Honda plans to expand its India lineup to more than 10 products by 2030 Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV is expected to launch in India in 2027 New sub-4-metre SUV and next-generation hybrid technology are also planned
Honda Cars India is preparing to expand its product lineup with new SUVs, electric vehicles and hybrid powertrains over the next four years. The company plans to have more than 10 products in India by 2030, with a stronger focus on SUVs and sedans.
The upcoming lineup will include a new sub-4-metre SUV and the Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV. The electric model is expected to arrive in India in 2027, while Honda is also preparing to introduce its next-generation hybrid technology in the country.
Honda has confirmed plans to introduce a new sub-4-metre SUV for India. This will allow the company to compete in one of the country's most popular segments, which includes the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Honda Cars India, has indicated that the company is looking at SUVs on both sides of the four-metre mark. Details about the upcoming compact SUV, including its design, engine options and launch timeline, have not been revealed yet. However, the new model will be an important addition to Honda's India lineup.

The Honda 0 Alpha will be the company's first electric SUV for India. Based on the 0 Alpha concept, the production model is expected to arrive in 2027. Honda is developing the electric SUV with India in mind and will manufacture it at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The company also plans to export the model to international markets, including Japan. The 0 Alpha will be a standalone electric SUV rather than an electric version of the Honda Elevate. It is expected to feature a five-seat layout and could offer a driving range of more than 500km on a full charge. Final specifications are yet to be confirmed.
Alongside electric vehicles, Honda is preparing to introduce its next-generation hybrid technology in India. The new system is expected to make its global debut in 2027 before reaching the Indian market. It will join Honda's existing strong-hybrid lineup, which includes the City e:HEV. The company is expected to continue offering petrol-powered models as well, with future launches likely to focus on SUVs and sedans rather than hatchbacks. The new hybrid system could help Honda expand its options for customers who want improved fuel efficiency without switching to a fully electric vehicle.
Honda aims to expand its Indian portfolio to more than 10 products by 2030. The plan includes new SUVs across different segments, electric vehicles and hybrid-powered models. The company may also consider bringing selected global models to India through completely built-up (CBU) or completely knocked-down (CKD) routes. This could help Honda strengthen its presence across different price segments. With the new compact SUV, the 0 Alpha electric SUV and next-generation hybrid technology in the pipeline, Honda is preparing a wider product range for the Indian market over the next few years.
