The Indian car market is heading into a busy week, with six new models expected to arrive between October 12 and October 17. The list includes premium electric SUVs, a luxury electric sedan, a compact SUV, a facelifted hatchback and the return of the Renault Duster with a hybrid powertrain. Volvo, Hyundai, Toyota, Audi and Renault are all preparing new launches or India introductions. Here is a look at the six cars coming next week and what to expect from each of them.

1. Volvo EX90

Volvo is expected to launch its flagship electric SUV, the EX90, in India on October 12. The three-row EV is expected to be offered in the Ultra variant with a 106kWh battery pack and dual electric motors. Volvo is also expected to introduce the ES90 electric sedan around October 12. The luxury EV is offered internationally with 92kWh and 106kWh battery options. Power output ranges from 333hp to 680hp, depending on the version. The ES90 also gets an 800V electrical architecture and supports up to 350kW DC fast charging. The top-spec version has a claimed WLTP range of up to 696km.

3. Hyundai Bayon

Hyundai is preparing the Bayon for the Indian market, although its India launch date has not been officially confirmed. The global version is scheduled to be revealed in Europe on October 12. The India-spec SUV is expected to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 115hp and 144Nm. It could be offered with a manual and IVT automatic gearbox. Bookings for the Bayon have reportedly opened in India for around Rs 11,000. More details about the India-spec model are expected soon.

4. Toyota Glanza Facelift

Toyota will launch the facelifted Glanza on October 14. The premium hatchback shares its underpinnings with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and is expected to receive similar styling and feature updates. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is expected to continue, producing around 82.9hp and 112.4Nm. A 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT are expected, while the CNG version could also remain on sale. The facelift is likely to bring changes to the exterior design and equipment list.

5. New Audi Q3

The third-generation Audi Q3 is scheduled to launch in India on October 16. Audi has already started local production of the new SUV, which should help the brand keep its pricing competitive. The new Q3 gets a completely redesigned exterior and is around 40mm longer than its predecessor. For India, it is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 204hp and 320Nm. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive are also expected.

6. Renault Duster Hybrid

The Renault Duster is set to return to India on October 17 with a hybrid powertrain. The India-spec SUV is expected to use a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The system is expected to produce around 160hp and 172Nm and use a 1.4kWh battery. Renault's hybrid setup can allow the SUV to run in EV mode for a significant part of city driving. Power is expected to be sent through an 8-speed multi-mode automatic transmission. The new Duster will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and other midsize SUVs.
