New Mahindra Vision T Could Get AWD and Hybrid Powertrain

Mahindra Vision T could get an AWD option Hybrid and electric powertrains are expected New SUV could sit below the Thar Roxx

Mahindra has started testing another upcoming SUV in India, believed to be the production version of the Vision T concept. The new SUV is expected to arrive in India in 2027 and could sit below the Thar Roxx in Mahindra’s line-up. While the company has not revealed the full specifications yet, the latest test mule gives us a few clues about its design, cabin and possible powertrain options.

Mahindra Vision T Could Get Hybrid and Electric Powertrains

The Vision T is expected to be based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform. The company has not yet confirmed its engine or battery specifications, but the SUV is expected to be offered with both petrol-hybrid and fully electric powertrains. An all-wheel-drive option could also be offered, giving the Vision T a more capable setup than a typical urban SUV. A front-wheel-drive version is also expected. More details about the hybrid system, battery capacity and electric motor are likely to be revealed closer to the launch.

Vision T Design Details Spotted

The latest test mule appears to feature a fresh alloy wheel design, potentially with a dual-tone finish. The rear door handles seem to be vertically positioned close to the C-pillars. At the rear, the test vehicle gets temporary tail lamps, an upright windscreen and a high-mounted stop lamp. The tailgate appears to have a handle on the left side, while the number plate recess could be placed on the rear bumper. The production SUV is expected to retain some styling elements from the Vision T concept while adopting a more practical design for mass production.

New Mahindra SUV to Get a Modern Cabin

The test vehicle also provides a glimpse of the Vision T’s interior. It appears to feature a fully digital instrument cluster, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. Grab handles are mounted on the A-pillars, while the dashboard and centre console are expected to get a new design. The Vision T concept featured a vertically positioned touchscreen and a new three-spoke steering wheel. It remains to be seen whether these elements will be carried over to the production model.

Mahindra Vision T Launch in 2027

The Vision T is expected to sit below the Thar Roxx in Mahindra’s SUV range. The company has not announced an exact launch date, but the SUV is expected to arrive in India in 2027.
