Mahindra’s Vision T-based electric SUV is expected to launch by 2028. The new EV could get two electric motors and an AWD system. Boxy styling and Thar-inspired design elements are expected.
Mahindra is working on a new electric SUV that will focus on both off-road driving and everyday use. Based on the Vision T concept, the new SUV is expected to arrive in India by 2028. The upcoming model will be part of Mahindra’s growing electric SUV range. It is expected to have a boxy design, dual electric motors and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
The production version of the Vision T is expected to keep some of the concept’s key design elements. It could get an upright and boxy body with a high stance and large wheel arches. The SUV is also expected to have strong body cladding and a rugged look. Some design elements from the Thar Roxx could also be used. This will help the new EV look different from Mahindra’s other electric SUVs, which have a more modern and sporty design.

One of the main highlights of the new Mahindra EV could be its four-wheel-drive setup. The SUV is expected to use two electric motors, with one motor powering each axle. This setup could give it better grip on rough roads, sand and other difficult surfaces. Mahindra has not shared details about the battery, power or range yet. These details are expected to be announced closer to the launch.
The Vision T-based SUV will join Mahindra’s growing range of electric models. The BE 6 is already on sale, while the larger BE 07 is expected to join the lineup in the future. The Vision T-based model will have a different focus, with its design and AWD system. Mahindra is also working on more electric models as it expands its EV range in India.
Mahindra could use some of its Thar design ideas on the new electric SUV. The Vision T concept already has a boxy shape, while the production model could get more familiar Mahindra styling. However, it will remain a separate model and is not expected to replace the Thar. The dual-motor AWD setup could make the new EV a strong option for those who want an electric SUV with better off-road ability.
The Vision T-based EV is one of several new SUVs Mahindra is working on for India. The company is also preparing the Vision S-based SUV, BE 07 and Thar 3-door facelift. The new electric SUV inspired by the Vision T is expected to arrive later, around 2028. More details about its battery, range, power and features are expected to be shared closer to its launch.
