Renault Duster Hybrid - Price Expectation and Key Rivals

Renault Duster Hybrid expected at Rs 18–22 lakh. Expected to deliver 160 PS and 29 kmpl. Key rivals include Grand Vitara, Hyryder and Victoris.

Renault Duster Strong Hybrid is set to launch in India on October 17, 2026. The new hybrid version will join the turbo-petrol variants in the Duster lineup and compete with popular strong-hybrid SUVs from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota.

The Duster Hybrid is expected to cost between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). It is also expected to deliver a claimed mileage of 29 kmpl and produce around 160 PS, which could give it an advantage over its key rivals.

Renault has opened bookings for the SUV for Rs 21,000 through authorised dealerships and its official website. Deliveries are expected to begin in early November 2026.

Renault Duster Hybrid Expected Price

The Renault Duster Strong Hybrid is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom. The company is scheduled to announce the official prices on October 17.

The hybrid version will likely sit above the regular turbo-petrol models, which are priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.69 lakh. The expected price premium is due to its advanced hybrid powertrain, which combines a petrol engine with electric motors and a battery pack.

The Duster Hybrid could have a higher starting price than some rivals' entry-level strong-hybrid variants. However, its expected price range may overlap with the higher hybrid trims of the Grand Vitara, Hyryder and Victoris.

Renault Duster Hybrid vs Rivals - Price Comparison

The Renault Duster Hybrid will compete with three key models: the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Strong Hybrid and Maruti Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid.

The Duster's expected price range is close to the top hybrid variants of these SUVs. However, the Hyryder has a lower starting price, while the Grand Vitara and Victoris sit in a similar price bracket.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid is priced between Rs 18.43 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It produces 115.5 PS and offers a claimed mileage of 27.97 kmpl. The Duster Hybrid is expected to offer more power and slightly better mileage, but its final price will determine how competitive it is.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Strong Hybrid is priced between Rs 16.66 lakh and Rs 20.19 lakh, ex-showroom. It also produces 115.5 PS and delivers a claimed mileage of 27.97 kmpl. Its lower starting price could appeal to buyers looking for a strong-hybrid SUV at a more affordable price. The Duster Hybrid could stand out with its expected 160 PS output and larger battery pack.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Strong Hybrid is priced between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom. It produces 115.5 PS and offers a claimed mileage of 28.65 kmpl. If Renault's estimated figures are confirmed, the Duster will offer more power and slightly better mileage, although the final prices and features will also matter.

Can the Renault Duster Hybrid Justify Its Expected Price?

The Renault Duster Hybrid's expected price of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 22 lakh puts it in the same broad bracket as the higher hybrid variants of its key rivals. Its expected 160 PS output, 1.4 kWh battery pack and claimed mileage of 29 kmpl could help it stand out. The SUV may appeal to buyers who want stronger performance along with the fuel-saving benefits of a hybrid system.

However, the final price will be important. If Renault prices the Duster Hybrid close to Rs 22 lakh, buyers may compare it more closely with the top variants of its rivals. A competitive starting price could help the SUV attract more customers.

Renault will announce the official price on October 17, 2026. The launch will reveal how the Duster Hybrid compares with its rivals on price and whether its expected performance and mileage make it a strong option in India's hybrid SUV segment.
