Mahindra XUV 3XO launching on October 15, 2026 Duster Hybrid arriving on October 17, 2026 Bayon launching on October 26
In order to boos sales during 2026 Diwali festive season, major automotive manufacturers are introducing new models into the mass-market SUV space. Over the next few days, three major releases - spanning CNG, high-efficiency strong hybrid and urban crossover segments - will officially hit Indian roads.
Here is a breakdown of the three upcoming SUV launches, including key specifications, launch dates, and target audiences.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG - Launch on October 15, 2026
Mahindra is looking to enter the CNG space, as the stringent emission norms are set to kick in from April 2027. The XUV 3XO is currently available with petrol and diesel engine options; however, the sub-4 meter SUV is all set to receive a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG derivative. The SUV is expected to receive a twin-cylinder tank arrangement positioned beneath the rear boot floor to offer a usable boot space compared to conventional single-cylinder CNG setups.
It is expected to pair Mahindra’s 1.2-litre mStallion Turbo-Petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The official teasers also reveal that the SUV will get LED headlights, LED DRLs and a panoramic sunroof. It is likely to share features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, dual-zone climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Renault Duster Hybrid - Launch on October 17, 2026
The French automaker, Renault will officially reveal the prices of the Duster Hybrid on October 17, 2026. Official bookings of the SUV are also commenced online or at authorised Renault dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Duster Hybrid is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 29 km/litre, which makes it the most fuel efficient in the category.
The Renault Duster strong hybrid engine combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 160 PS. An intelligent multi-mode transmission automatically manages the petrol engine and electric motors according to driving conditions. The SUV can do its 80% of city driving on pure EV mode.
Hyundai Bayon - Launch on October 26, 2026
Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially announced to launch the Bayon midsize SUV on October 26, 2026. Deliveries of the SUV are scheduled to commence during the festive season. To be positioned between the sub-4m Venue and the Creta, the Hyundai Bayon will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Honda Elevate and others. Interested customers can book the new SUV online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
Hyundai Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine producing 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. It will be the first Hyundai over 4 meters to feature a factory-fitted CNG kit. The SUV could get an underbody CNG kit.
