Honda’s First Hybrid & Electric SUVs For India – Launch, Prices & Full Details

Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV will go on sale in June 2026. The Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV is undergoing testing and set to launch in FY2026-27.

Honda has announced 10 new model launches for the Indian market, scheduled to arrive by 2030. Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker is set to launch the Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV in June, 2026. It will be imported as a CBU (completely built unit) in limited numbers and is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh – Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, Honda also aims to tap the growing EV (electric vehicle) market with the all-new Honda 0 Alpha SUV in 2027.

 

Honda ZR-V Hybrid SUV

 

The Honda ZR-V will be the brand’s first hybrid SUV in India, where it will lock horns with the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. Similar to the global-spec version, the India-bound ZR-V features a 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol engine paired to a dual-motor strong hybrid setup. It delivers a combined power of 184bhp and 315Nm of torque.

 

The SUV comes with an e-CVT transmission, sending power to the front wheels. It does 0 to 100kmph sprints in 8 seconds, and offers a maximum speed of 172kmph. Honda claims that the ZR-V offers a fuel efficiency of 22.79kmpl.

The interior of the Honda ZR-V is packed with several modern features including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, a 4-way powered co-driver’s seat, a 12-sepaker Bose sound system, 8 airbags, TPMS, Level-2 ADAS and more.

 

Honda 0 Alpha SUV

 

Honda Cars India plans an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore for the upcoming 0 Alpha electric SUV. The carmaker’s Tapukara manufacturing facility will serve as production hub for both domestic and export markets. The Honda 0 Alpha is currently undergoing extensive testing across different terrains and climate conditions.

 

While battery specifications, driving range, charging time and key details are yet to be revealed, they are expected to be announced closer to its market launch. The 0 Alpha EV SUV is expected to be positioned as a premium SUV, challenging the models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti eVItara and Toyota Ebella.
