iCaur V25 Makes Global Debut With Electric and Range-Extender Options

iCaur V25 offers fully electric and range-extender powertrain options. The REEV version produces a claimed 455 hp and 505 Nm. Global rollout is expected to begin in early 2027.

The iCaur V25 has made its first public appearance at the iCaur International User Summit in Wuhu, China. The new SUV follows its online reveal in August and will sit between the V23 and V27 in the brand's line-up. The iCaur V25 will be offered with two powertrain options: a fully electric vehicle (BEV) and a range-extender electric vehicle (REEV). The global rollout is expected to begin in early 2027, with Australia among the first markets to receive the SUV.

iCaur V25 Gets Boxy, Rugged Design

The iCaur V25 follows the brand's “Future Classic” design theme, featuring a boxy shape, round headlights and retro-inspired styling. While it shares similarities with the V23, the V25 gets fuller and more rounded daytime running lights. The SUV measures 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,855 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It is 416 mm longer than the V23, including an 85 mm increase in wheelbase. The longer rear overhang gives the V25 a more squared-off appearance. Other design changes include a revised rear bumper, a relocated number plate recess and a vertical handle on the side-opening tailgate.

Interior Gets a 15.4-Inch Touchscreen

The cabin follows a layout similar to the V23 but adds several new features. The iCaur V25 gets a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new eight-inch digital instrument display. Other updates include more physical buttons, a redesigned centre console with two phone holders and a 50W wireless charger. The seats feature a microfiber and PVC combination, with dual-tone upholstery available. The SUV is also expected to offer a panoramic sunroof with a built-in sunshade, heated and ventilated front seats, driver seat memory and a 15-speaker audio system.

Seats Can Convert Into a Bed

The iCaur V25 is designed with outdoor trips and camping in mind. Its front seats can recline flat and combine with the rear seats to create a sleeping space. The company claims the SUV has 41 storage compartments, giving occupants several places to keep their belongings. Boot capacity is claimed at 1,549 litres. The fully electric version also gets a front storage compartment, known as a frunk, along with an additional 22 litres of underfloor storage.

iCaur V25 REEV to Produce 455 hp

The range-extender version will use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing a claimed 455 hp and 505 Nm of torque. According to the company, the REEV powertrain delivers a fuel-to-electricity conversion rate of 3.71 kWh per litre and a thermal efficiency of 44.5%. Details from the Chinese-market model indicate that a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine works as a range extender, supplying energy to a 33.679 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Unlike a conventional hybrid, a range-extender EV primarily uses its electric motors to drive the wheels, while the petrol engine generates electricity to support the battery.

Fully Electric Version Details Awaited

iCaur has confirmed that the V25 will also be available as a battery electric vehicle. However, the company has not yet shared the electric version's battery capacity, power output or driving range. More technical details are expected closer to the global launch. The availability of each powertrain may vary by market.

Global Rollout Begins in 2027

The iCaur V25 is expected to begin its global rollout in early 2027 and will be the brand's first model to reach Australia. Malaysia could follow, as the SUV has already been spotted testing there. Meanwhile, the iCaur V27 has also been confirmed for Malaysia following its ASEAN debut in Indonesia in July.
