Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry is a strong hybrid model and the only sedan offering from the company in India. First launched in 2002, the vehicle has spawned over four-generations in the Indian automobile market with the latest being introduced back in 2019. 

The fourth-generation model (10th Gen globally) received two minor facelifts with the most recent being in 2022. Built on the TNGA-K platform, the recent update introduced subtle cosmetic changes on the outside along with some major feature updates to the inside. 

Toyota Camry: Exterior

The 2023 Toyota Camry’s exterior design is more poised with sleek lines and a long drooping nose. Upfront the car offers the signature Toyota grille that has gone sleek in the new version along with new design LED projector headlamps. Lower down there is a large opening for the air-intake along with a new housing for the fog-lamps. 

On the sides, we get to see the sleek aerodynamic nature of the sedan created by its long proportions. Adding character to the overall design are the distinct shoulder line and the new 18-inch alloy wheels. 

Towards the rear, there is a new combination lamp design along with a large ‘Camry’ badge placed on the boot lid.

Toyota Camry: Interiors and Features

Interior: Moving to the inside, the 2023 Toyota Camry provides a luxurious cabin finished in soft touch materials. The new dual-tone black and beige cabin offers new Black engineered wood treatment on the dashboard to elevate the premium quotient.

Features: The new dashboard houses a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other equipment on the inside include an analogue instrument cluster with digital MID, power adjustable driver seat with memory function, passenger seat with lumbar support, HUD (Heads Up Display), a 9-speaker JBL sound system, 3-zone AC, reclining rear seats, and more

Safety: In terms of safety, the New Toyota Camry gets 9-airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, hill assist control, traction control system, a rear camera and more basic equipment.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors offers the Camry in India with a 1 top-of-the-line ZX variant that is priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota Camry: Engine and Specification

The Indian version of the Toyota Camry comes equipped with one strong hybrid petrol engine option. The 2.5-litre unit is rated for a maximum power output of 175 bhp and peak torque of 221 Nm. The powertrain is mated to an e-CVT gearbox and gets three driving modes namely Sport, Eco and Normal.

The New Toyota Camry measures 4,885mm in length, 1,840mm in width and 1,455mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,825mm. The car offers a 50-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.
