BYD could bring the Denza brand to India soon. The Z9 GT produces 1,156bhp from a triple-motor setup. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 2.7 seconds.
BYD could soon bring its high-performance Denza brand to India, with the Denza Z9 GT expected to be one of the most exciting models in the line-up. The electric fastback gets a triple-motor setup and produces a massive 1,156bhp. The Denza brand is positioned above BYD’s mainstream range globally and is expected to make its India debut with the D9 luxury MPV. The Z9 GT could follow as another premium model for the Indian market.
The Denza Z9 GT is a four-door luxury shooting brake with a fastback-style design. It gets a long, low profile, frameless windows, 21-inch alloy wheels and a large rear diffuser. BYD patented the design of the Denza Z9 GT in India in March 2025, which had sparked speculation about the car coming to the country. While there is no official India launch date yet, the model could arrive after the D9 MPV.

Globally, the Denza Z9 GT is available with both plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. For India, the model is expected to be offered in its fully electric version. The EV gets a 122.5kWh battery pack and a triple-motor setup. It produces 1,156bhp and 1,210Nm of peak torque. The car can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 2.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 270kmph.
The Z9 GT also comes with several advanced features. It gets active rear-wheel steering and can perform special sideways movement and tight 360-degree turns using its advanced steering system. The car also gets sophisticated driver assistance features, self-parking and Disus-A dual-chamber air suspension. Inside, the cabin gets a premium audio system from Devialet along with digital rear-view camera screens.

Before the Z9 GT, BYD is expected to introduce the Denza D9 luxury MPV in India. The D9 could make its debut around Diwali and will compete with models such as the MG M9, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM. The D9 is available globally with both EV and PHEV powertrains, but India is expected to get the electric version. It uses a 103.3kWh Blade battery and offers up to 520km of WLTP range. If the Z9 GT is introduced after the D9, it could become one of the fastest and most powerful electric cars in BYD’s India range.
