Tata Motors is expected to launch at least six new cars by the end of 2027. Safari.ev could offer around 600km range and bidirectional charging. The first production Avinya EV is expected to arrive in late 2027.
Tata Motors is preparing to add several new models to its India lineup over the next two years. The company is expected to conduct at least six product launches by the end of 2027, covering petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. The upcoming products include the Tigor facelift, Safari.ev, Sierra AWD, next-generation Nexon and the first production model from Tata’s new Avinya EV brand.
The Tata Tigor and Tigor.ev facelift are expected to arrive by November 2026. The update is likely to bring the most extensive design changes yet for Tata’s sub-4-metre sedans. The exterior could feature sharper headlamps, redesigned bumpers, new grilles, fresh alloy wheels and revised tail lamps. The cabin is also expected to receive a more modern layout, with changes to the dashboard, instrument cluster and infotainment system. Tata could also introduce a redesigned centre console with two smartphone trays, including one with a wireless charging function. No major mechanical changes are expected with the facelift.

The Safari.ev is also expected to reach showrooms by November 2026. As the electric version of the Safari, it will use a heavily modified, rear-biased platform and is expected to feature an independent rear suspension. The electric SUV could be offered with the same three electric powertrain configurations as the Harrier.ev. Tata is expected to target a driving range of around 600km on a single charge. Another key feature could be bidirectional charging, which would allow the SUV to send power back to external devices or equipment.
Tata Motors is expected to introduce a Sierra AWD in early 2027. The all-wheel-drive version will target buyers looking for a more capable SUV and could rival AWD versions of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Sierra AWD is expected to be available with the 1.5-litre Hyperion petrol and Kryojet diesel engines. Both powertrains could come with a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
The second-generation Tata Nexon, internally known as Garud, could arrive in the third quarter of 2027. The new Nexon is expected to use a heavily modified version of the current model’s platform. However, Tata could also use a shortened version of the new Sierra’s architecture. If the latter approach is adopted, the platform could potentially be used for other future models as well, including the rumoured smaller SUV currently referred to by the codename Scarlet.
The biggest development in Tata’s future EV portfolio could arrive in the fourth quarter of 2027 with the launch of the first production model under the Avinya brand. The model is expected to be based on the Avinya X concept showcased at Auto Expo 2025. However, the production version is likely to feature some changes to its design and proportions.
The production model is also expected to use the CJLR joint venture’s Freelander platform, rather than the JLR EMA architecture previously associated with the Avinya concept. The launch will mark the beginning of Tata Motors’ dedicated EV-only Avinya brand, which is expected to sit above its existing electric car portfolio.
