Tata to Roll Out New Electric Cars Over the Next Year

Tata to launch multiple EVs in India over the next year. Updated Tiago EV to get bigger battery and new features. Sierra EV and Avinya will target premium EV buyers.

Tata Motors is gearing up to roll out multiple new electric cars in India over the next year. After strengthening its lineup with models like the Harrier EV and Punch EV, the company is now preparing to expand further with three new EVs across different segments.

Updated Tiago EV Coming Soon

The most affordable model in the pipeline is the updated Tata Tiago EV. Test models suggest noticeable design changes, including new LED headlamps, revised bumpers, and improved aerodynamics.

Inside, the hatchback is expected to get a larger touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, and better quality materials. Features like a 360-degree camera may also be added.

A major upgrade could be the larger 30 kWh battery pack, which is likely to improve the car’s real-world driving range.

Sierra EV Targets Premium Buyers

Next up is the Tata Sierra EV, which is expected to launch soon. It will sit above the Curvv EV and target buyers looking for a premium electric SUV.

The Sierra EV is likely to offer multiple battery options, including 55 kWh, 65 kWh, and possibly a 75 kWh dual-motor setup. It could deliver a range of around 500 km and support fast charging as well as bi-directional charging.

In terms of design, it will stay close to the ICE Sierra but with EV-specific touches like a closed grille and aerodynamic styling updates.

Avinya EV to Lead the Premium Push

At the top of the lineup will be the first production model from the Tata Avinya range. Expected around early 2027, this model will take Tata into a more premium EV space.

It will be built on a new platform derived from JLR’s EMA architecture and is expected to feature a futuristic design, advanced technology, and a premium interior. The Avinya model will also set the design direction for future Tata EVs.

Focus on Range, Tech and Wider Reach

With these upcoming launches, Tata Motors is aiming to cover a wider range of customers, from budget buyers to premium EV enthusiasts. The focus will be on better driving range, modern features, and improved overall experience.
