Tata Sierra EV and Safari EV among key launches. Toyota, Kia and VinFast to expand EV lineup. More options across budget and premium segments.

Electric cars are gaining strong momentum in India, and carmakers are preparing a wave of new launches across segments. From affordable hatchbacks to premium SUVs, several new EVs are set to hit the market soon.

 

Here’s a closer look at some of the key upcoming electric cars.

 

1. Tata Sierra EV

 

Tata Motors is set to revive the Sierra name with an all-electric version. The SUV is expected to sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. It could come with 55 kWh and 65 kWh battery packs, along with a possible all-wheel-drive setup. The focus will be on offering a balance of range and performance.

2. Tata Safari EV

 

Tata is also working on the Safari EV, a three-row electric SUV positioned above the Harrier EV. While official details are limited, it is expected to offer more power and space, making it suitable for buyers looking for a premium family EV.

 

3. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

 

Toyota will enter the EV segment in India with the Urban Cruiser Ebella. It is based on the Maruti e Vitara but gets a unique design. It will likely be offered with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options, delivering a claimed range of up to 543 km.

 

4. Kia Syros EV

 

Kia is preparing to showcase the Syros EV in July 2026. It is expected to offer 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery packs, making it suitable for both city driving and occasional long trips.

 

5. VinFast VF 3

 

VinFast is planning to enter the affordable EV space with the VF 3 hatchback. It will rival the MG Comet EV. The car will come with an 18.64 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 215 km, along with fast charging support.
