Tata 10 New Cars Planned For India – 6 ICE Cars, 4 EVs & 30 Big Updates

Tata to launch Sierra EV, Safari EV and multiple updates. Avinya EV brand, micro SUV and MPV planned ahead.

Tata Motors has recently announced its plan to expand its ICE (internal combustion engine) product portfolio with six new nameplates by FY2031. The carmaker will also introduce four new EV nameplates including the Sierra EV and the Avinya premium electric SUV. To maintain a competitive edge, the company has planned over 30 lifecycle updates, facelifts and new variants across its existing models.

The Tata Sierra EV is all set to hit showrooms on June 30, 2026. The electric SUV is likely to share its powertrains with the Harrier EV, and offer a range of over 500km on a single charge. Following the launch of the Sierra EV, Tata Motors will introduce the Tigor and Tigor EV facelifts along with the Tata Safari EV during this year’s Diwali season.

The Tata Avinya, a dedicated premium EV sub-brand, will debut in late 2026 or early 2027. The first production-ready Avinya EV is expected to go on sale by mid-2027. Based on the Chery-JLR Freelander EV architecture, the electric SUV is expected to be packed with premium features and advanced technologies. However, the official powertrain specifications are still under the wraps.

Tata Motors has also revealed plans to enter new segments. While detailed information remains under the wraps, the company is reportedly developing a three-row electric MPV aimed at family car buyers.

For people not in the know, Maruti Suzuki is preparing a new electric MPV (codenamed YMC), which is expected to debut in the second half of 2026. Toyota will also introduce its own version of the upcoming Maruti YMC. These models could direct rival the new Tata 7-seater EV family mover.

According to reports, the Tata Scarlet (codenamed) micro SUV is also under development and is expected to launch towards the end of 2027. The model is likely to derive several design elements from the Tata Sierra, and feature a rugged design language.

Rumour has it that the Scarlet might share its 120bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the Nexon or 125bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the Curvv. Tata might also use the new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine sourced from the Sierra SUV.
