New Sedan Launches Lined Up - Full Details

Honda City facelift launching on May 22. Slavia and Virtus updates expected later this year. New features and improved gearbox upgrades coming.

Sedans may not be as popular as SUVs today, but they are far from disappearing. Carmakers like Honda, Skoda Auto and Volkswagen are preparing to launch updated sedan models in India this year.

These updates aim to keep the segment fresh with new features, better comfort, and improved driving experience.

Honda City Facelift First

The Honda City will lead the upcoming launches. It is set to arrive on May 22 as a second facelift of the current generation.

Exterior changes are expected to be subtle, including revised bumpers, updated lighting elements, and new alloy wheels.

Inside, the focus will be on added comfort and tech. The sedan could get ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, a larger infotainment system, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The Honda Sensing ADAS suite is also expected to be improved.

Slavia and Virtus Updates Next

Later in the year, the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus will also receive facelifts.

Both models are expected to feature updated headlamps, redesigned bumpers, new grilles, and fresh alloy wheel designs. New colour options and illuminated logos may also be introduced.

More Features and Better Driving

The interiors of both sedans are likely to see important upgrades. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and improved air-conditioning system are expected. The Slavia may even offer rear seat comfort features like a massage function.

One of the biggest updates will be the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI engine. This will replace the current 6-speed unit and is expected to improve fuel efficiency and make driving smoother.
