New City gets sharper design, new features and updated interior. Petrol and hybrid engines remain unchanged.
The new Honda City 2026 facelift is now on sale in India at an introductory price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the pre-facelift, the updated model lineup is nearly Rs 1 lakh more expensive. The sedan receives noticeable cosmetic updates and feature enhancements, while retaining the same naturally aspirated petrol and strong hybrid powertrains. Let’s see what has changed in the new City and how different it is from the previous model.
Visually, the 2026 Honda City facelift looks sharper than older model, especially at the front. It features a newly-designed grille with new Honda logo at the centre, and revised and slightly repositioned bumper with air vents. The sedan also gets redesigned LED projector headlamps connected via a light strip, which are claimed to offer a longer and wider light spread.
The side profile looks largely similar to the old City, except for the newly-designed dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. The taillamps now have a smoked-out effect, while the revised rear bumper and new faux diffuser with honeycomb grill pattern add more to its refreshing looks.
The new Honda City 2026 facelift is now available in a new Crystal Black colour scheme along with the already existing Obsidian Blue, Lunar Silver, Meteoroid Grey, Platinum White and Radiant Red paint options. The Golden Brown shade has been discontinued with this update.

The cabin layout and most features are carried over from the pre-facelift City. However, the sedan now gets a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The slightly redesigned dashboard, a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats are new additions to the package.
Mechanically, the new Honda City facelift is exactly similar to the old one. The ICE-powered version uses the same 121bhp/145Nm, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine with 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT gearbox options. The City e:HEV comes with the same 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain, paired to an e-CVT gearbox.
