BYD's luxury brand Denza is expected to enter India soon. Denza D9 could offer up to 600 km of claimed range. It will rival the MG M9, Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM.
BYD is preparing to bring its luxury brand Denza to India, with the Denza D9 expected to become the first model to go on sale here. The premium electric MPV is likely to arrive around the festive season, although an early 2027 debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is also possible.
The Denza D9 will enter one of India's growing premium MPV segments, where it will compete with the MG M9, Toyota Vellfire, Lexus LM and Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
The Denza D9 is expected to be sold through BYD's existing dealership network initially, while dedicated Denza showrooms could open at a later stage. Globally, the D9 is available in both electric and plug-in hybrid versions. However, the fully electric model is expected to be the first to arrive in India. With its focus on luxury, comfort and advanced technology, the D9 is expected to become BYD's flagship offering for the Indian market.

The Denza D9 has a strong road presence thanks to its large dimensions. It measures 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,920 mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 3,110 mm. The front features a large grille with chrome-finished vertical slats, along with sleek LED headlamps and daytime running lights. Other highlights include connected LED tail lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, powered sliding rear doors and soft-close doors. The overall design focuses on luxury rather than sporty styling, making it well suited for chauffeur-driven buyers.
Inside, the Denza D9 is designed to offer a first-class travel experience. The second row gets electrically adjustable captain seats with extendable leg support, making long journeys more comfortable. Rear passengers also get dedicated control screens for various cabin functions.
Other expected features include a large infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, panoramic glass roof, multi-zone climate control, rear AC vents for all rows, premium Dynaudio sound system, cooled storage box and high-quality wood and metal trim. These features are expected to make the D9 one of the most luxurious electric MPVs in its segment.
Internationally, the Denza D9 is built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 with an 800V electrical architecture. The electric version comes with a 103.36 kWh battery pack and offers a claimed driving range of up to 600 km, depending on the variant and testing cycle. The MPV also features DiSus-C adaptive suspension, which is designed to deliver a smoother ride for passengers.
The MG M9 is currently priced at Rs 79.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Denza D9 is expected to be positioned above it, with prices likely to start at around Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the MG M9, Toyota Vellfire, Lexus LM and Mercedes-Benz V-Class, giving buyers another premium electric option in the luxury MPV segment.
