• First born electric SUV in the country • Deliveries to start from January 2023 • Rivals the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV
Chinese automaker, BYD (Build Your Dreams) has launched its first electric SUV, the Atto3 in India at a starting price of Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Showcased at the start of October 2022, the new EV is available to book at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The Atto3 is BYD second product in India after the e6 MPV.
Currently the BYD Atto3 is available in only one variant with all the bells and whistles. The pricing for this model is Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Atto3 is available in 4 colour option, namely Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White and Surf Blue.

Inspired by Attosecond, the smallest time scale unit in physics, the BYD Atto3 is design to be a sporty SUV. The sides get blacked-out wheel arches, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a prominent shoulder line and a silver finish on the C-pillar. Towards the rear, we see a sleek full-length LED tail-lamp and large ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering on the trunk.

On the inside, the car features 12.8-inch (32.5cm) adaptive rotating Screen, NFC card key, wireless charging, a one-touch electric control tailgate, an 8-speaker audio system, electric seat adjustment, voice control, LED headlamps, LED rear lights, multi-colour gradient ambient lighting and PM2.5 air filter.
A new feature on the BYD Atto3 is the Level 2 ADAS function that includes lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and monitoring among others. The car also get ABS with EBD, 360-degree parking camera, 6-airbags among other standard safety features.
The all-new Atto3 comes powered by 60.48 kWh blade battery producing around 200 bhp and offering a range of up to 521 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle will utilise a 7kW Type 2 AC charger that top up the battery in 10 hours.
Deliveries of the BYD Atto3 is expected to start from the start of January 2023. Currently the company has amassed 1500 pre-orders for its electric SUV. The rivals to the BYD Atto3 include the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric.
