11 New Cars Coming to India in October 2026

October 2026 is set to be a busy month for the Indian car market, with several new models lined up across different segments. The list includes premium SUVs, electric cars, hybrid models and facelifts from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Renault, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Volkswagen.

Some of these cars already have confirmed launch dates, while others are expected to arrive around the festive season.

1. Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift

Mercedes-Benz will kick off the month with the facelifted Maybach S-Class on October 5. The updated luxury sedan gets a revised front-end with a larger illuminated grille, redesigned headlamps and new star-shaped daytime running lights. Inside, the car is expected to continue with a premium cabin featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. The overseas S580 version gets a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing around 537 hp and 750 Nm. India-specification details are expected to be announced closer to the launch.

2. Honda Elevate Facelift

Honda is expected to launch the Elevate facelift in India on October 6, 2026. The updated SUV will get styling changes along with new features and cabin upgrades. The facelift is expected to feature a revised grille, updated LED lighting elements, new front and rear bumpers and fresh alloy wheels. The cabin could also receive new upholstery and feature upgrades.

Honda is expected to add features such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen. These additions could make the Elevate more competitive in the midsize SUV segment. Under the bonnet, the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue. It produces around 119 hp and 145 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

3. Skoda Slavia Facelift

The Skoda Slavia facelift is expected to launch in India on October 6, 2026, with prices likely to be announced in the first week of October. The updated sedan was unveiled on August 18 and gets several styling, cabin and mechanical upgrades. The 1.0-litre TSI now gets a new 8-speed automatic, while the 1.5-litre TSI continues with a 7-speed DSG. Inside, it gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera and segment-first rear-seat massage function.

4. Volvo EX90

Volvo is expected to launch its flagship electric SUV, the EX90, in India on October 12. The three-row electric SUV is expected to be offered in the Ultra variant with a 106kWh battery pack and dual electric motors. The EX90 produces 456 hp and 670 Nm, while its claimed range can go up to 625km, depending on the specification. The cabin gets a large 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 9-inch driver display and a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Volvo will also offer a wide range of advanced driver assistance features.

5. Volvo ES90

Volvo will also introduce the ES90 electric sedan around the same time (October 12). The luxury EV will be available with 92kWh and 106kWh battery options in international markets. Depending on the version, power output ranges from 333 hp to 680 hp. The ES90 also supports an 800V electrical architecture and up to 350kW DC fast charging. The top-spec version can offer a claimed range of up to 696km under the WLTP cycle.

6. Hyundai Bayon

Hyundai is preparing the Bayon for the Indian market, although the India launch date has not been officially announced yet. The global version is scheduled for a reveal in Europe on October 12. The compact SUV is expected to be offered in India with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 115 hp and 144 Nm. Transmission options could include a manual and IVT automatic. Bookings for the Bayon have reportedly opened in India for around Rs 11,000.

7. New Audi Q3

The new-generation Audi Q3 is scheduled to launch in India on October 16. Audi has already started local production of the SUV, which should help the brand price it competitively in the premium SUV segment. The third-generation Q3 gets a completely redesigned exterior and is around 40mm longer than its predecessor. For India, the SUV is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 204 hp and 320 Nm. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive are also expected.

8. Renault Duster Hybrid

Renault is preparing to bring back the Duster to India with a hybrid powertrain. The new Duster is expected to launch on October 17. The India-spec hybrid setup is expected to use a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The system produces around 160 hp and 172 Nm and gets a 1.4kWh battery. Renault's hybrid system is designed to allow the SUV to run in EV mode for a large part of city driving. The powertrain uses an 8-speed multi-mode automatic transmission.

9. Toyota Glanza Facelift

The Toyota Glanza is also expected to receive an update around early-October. As the Maruti Suzuki Baleno's sibling, the facelifted Glanza should get styling and feature changes similar to the updated Baleno. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is expected to continue, producing around 82.9 hp and 112.4 Nm. A 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT are expected, while CNG could also remain part of the lineup.

10. VinFast VF3

Vietnamese carmaker VinFast could add another model to its Indian range with the small VF3 electric SUV. The model could arrive around October 18-19 as part of the company's plan to expand its EV portfolio. The VF3 is a tiny two-door electric SUV with a tall body and compact footprint. In India, it could sit below larger VinFast models and compete with affordable EVs such as the Tata Tiago EV, Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV. More details about its India-spec battery, range and pricing are expected closer to launch.

11. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

Volkswagen is also expected to update the Virtus sedan in India. The facelift should bring styling changes along with updates to the cabin and equipment list. The existing petrol engine lineup is expected to continue. The 1.0-litre TSI could be paired with an 8-speed automatic, while the 1.5-litre TSI is expected to continue with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The updated Virtus could also get a 360-degree camera and revised infotainment software.
