Next-gen Hyundai Creta Launch in 2027 To get a strong hybrid powertrain
The Korean automaker, Hyundai, has officially announced to launch 26 new cars in the Indian market by 2030. The company has confirmed the next-gen Creta and i10 hatchback, both expected to be launched in 2027. While Kia will soon introduce the Sorento 7-seater SUV as its first hybrid model, Hyundai will introduce the next-gen Creta as its first hybrid model in the Indian market. Testing of the next-generation Hyundai Creta has already commenced, and it is expected to be launched in the first half of 2027.
Hyundai could reveal the new Creta at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The company has accelerated the new Creta project to address a shifting consumer demand for more premium, tech-heavy small SUV. In the new avatar, the country's best-selling midsize SUV will receive significant structural and architectural changes. The spy images have already confirmed that the new model will grow in size, and is expected to measure close to 4.5 meters in length.
The SUV will be based on the new K3 platform that also underpins the new-gen Kia Seltos. The wheelbase will be increased to offer improved space in second-row and bigger boot. Instead of the rounded design, the new-gen Hyundai Creta will move toward a more cohesive futuristic aesthetic with design inspired by the Crater Concept. Hyundai has opted for a completely new design that doesn't look like anything we have seen before from the company.
The new model will have a taller hood line and a more vertical front fascia, and a flatter roof. The SUV is likely to integrate parametric pixel elements in the lighting units, aligning the ICE Creta with the Ioniq EV sub-brand. It is expected that the next Creta could also receive an electric derivative.
The 2027 Hyundai Creta will adopt the brand's Pleos Connect system, equipped with a massive central touchscreen paired with a sleek digital instrument console. The core controls will continue to be operated via physical buttons and dials on the console. It will come with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging pad, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, powered driver's and co-occupant seat, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, LEVEL 2 ADAS and others.
The next-gen Creta will continue to be offered with a 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel. Its hybrid version is likely to receive an all-new engine, which will utilise the existing 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine clubbed with a small battery pack and a single electric motor. Hyundai would be targeting a fuel efficiency of around 25kmpl from the next Creta Hybrid.
