Kia Syros EV launch expected in Q2 2026 Two battery options with up to 400 km real-world range Kia Seltos hybrid confirmed for India in 2027
Kia is gearing up for a strong electric and hybrid push in India. While a fully electric Seltos is still some time away, the company has officially confirmed the Kia Syros EV, which will arrive in 2026. At the same time, Kia has also locked in a Kia Seltos hybrid launch for 2027 while its second-get Seltos will launch on January 2, 2026. Here’s a simple look at Kia’s upcoming EV and hybrid plans.
Kia Syros EV launch date is expected in the first half of 2026, with most reports pointing to Q2 2026 (April to June). This will be Kia’s first mass-market electric SUV designed specifically for Indian buyers.
The Syros EV is a dedicated electric model and is not linked to the Seltos lineup. Test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads, indicating that local development is underway.

The Kia Syros EV will be based on a modified K1 platform, which is also used by the global Hyundai Inster EV. In terms of design, it will retain the tall and boxy stance of the ICE Syros but with clear EV-specific changes.
These updates will include a blanked-off front grille, a charging port on the front-left fender, aerodynamic alloy wheels and EV badging. Overall, the Syros EV will have a distinct electric identity while keeping a familiar shape.
Kia is expected to offer two battery options with the Syros EV. The smaller 42 kWh battery could deliver a Kia Syros EV range of around 300-350 km. A larger 49 kWh battery is expected to offer up to 370-400 km of real-world range.
This range should make the Syros EV suitable for both city driving and occasional highway trips.

The Syros EV is expected to be feature-rich. Key highlights may include a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats and a wide 30-inch Trinity display with dual 12.3-inch screens.
Advanced safety features like Level 2 ADAS are also expected, helping the Syros EV stay competitive in the segment.
The Syros EV is likely to be priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with popular electric SUVs like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV and MG Windsor EV.
While a Kia Seltos EV has not been officially confirmed, multiple reports suggest it is under development and could launch around late 2026 or 2027. However, Kia has officially confirmed a Kia Seltos hybrid launch for 2027.
The Seltos hybrid will feature strong hybrid technology and will also support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), allowing it to power external devices.
