Kia Carnival Hybrid will launch in India on September 4, 2026. It will get a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 54kW electric motor. The hybrid MPV will offer 242hp, three-row seating and premium features.
Kia is getting ready to add a new hybrid model to its India lineup. The Kia Carnival Hybrid will launch in India on September 4, 2026, and will be sold alongside the existing diesel-powered Carnival.
The new version will bring a petrol-hybrid powertrain, more fuel-efficient driving and a long list of premium features. It will also be an important step in Kia’s plan to add more hybrid models to its India range.
The Carnival Hybrid is expected to use a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 54kW electric motor. The setup will come with a six-speed automatic gearbox. In international markets, this powertrain produces around 242hp and 367Nm of combined output. The India-spec Carnival Hybrid is expected to use the same setup.
The hybrid system will also get regenerative braking with three levels. This should help recover energy while driving and improve overall fuel efficiency compared with the current diesel Carnival. The existing Carnival uses a 2.2-litre diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The new hybrid model will retain the Carnival’s spacious three-row cabin. Depending on the version, it can accommodate up to eight occupants. The top-spec versions are expected to get second-row relaxation seats with powered adjustment, recline and ottoman functions. Heated and ventilated seats will also add to the comfort for longer journeys. The large cabin remains one of the main advantages of the Carnival, especially for buyers looking for a premium family MPV instead of a three-row SUV.
Kia is expected to offer the Carnival Hybrid with several premium features. The dashboard will feature dual 12.3-inch screens, while an 11-inch head-up display will provide key information to the driver.
Other expected equipment includes a Bose sound system, digital rear-view mirror, Kia Connect, wireless smartphone connectivity and a shift-by-wire gear selector. A dual sunroof will also be offered, adding to the premium feel of the cabin.
The Carnival Hybrid will also come with a range of advanced driver assistance features. These are expected to include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist. Highway Driving Assist and Smart Cruise Control will also be available, giving the Carnival Hybrid a strong safety package.
The Carnival Hybrid will continue with the large and upright design of the current-generation MPV. It will get 19-inch alloy wheels with a glossy black finish and Dark Edition styling elements. LED projector headlamps and LED tail lamps will also be part of the package. The Carnival measures 5,156mm in length, 1,994mm in width and 1,740mm in height. It has a 3,091mm wheelbase, which helps provide a spacious cabin.
