Hyundai Verna Latest Update

June 5, 2025 - Hyundai has launched a new SX+ trim in the Verna sedan line-up. The new trim is available with manual and CVT automatic gearbox with prices starting at Rs 13.79 lakh, ex-showroom. It also gets wired-to-wireless adapter, which costs Rs 4,500. In terms of features, the new Verna sedan gets an 8-speaker Bose sound system, heated & ventilated front seats, TPMs and a rear parking camera.

February 19, 2025 - Hyundai has increased the prices of the Verna sedan by up to Rs 7,000. The new price hike is applicable to all variants under the Verna line-up.

January 9, 2025 - Hyundai has added two new variants - S IVT and S (O) DCT - to Verna line-up. Both variants are equipped with a smart electric sunroof.  The S (O) DCT variant gets 16-inch black alloys, wireless charger, rear camera & others.

First launched in 2011, the Hyundai Verna has been one of the best selling mid-sized sedans on sale in India. Hyundai had launched the new generation Verna sedan in our market on March 21, 2023. The all-new sedan comes with bigger dimensions, new styling and a premium cabin with segment-leading features.

The new Verna is available with 2 engine options - a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol. The sedan is offered with multiple gearbox options including manual and automatic (DCT & CVT).

The new Verna sedan comes with a premium & feature-loaded interior, which comes with multiple segment-leading features. It comes with a panoramic sunroof, which can be operated using voice commands in Hindi and English. The sedan features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support.

It is fitted with a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a wireless phone charging, and ventilated seats. Other features include automatic climate control, LED lighting system, engine start/stop system, a cooled glovebox and cruise control.

How Safe is Hyundai Verna?

The new Verna comes fitted with several high-end safety and security features. It is also awarded with a 5-star crash test rating by Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). The sedan gets six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) and front & rear parking sensors along with a rear view camera with guidelines. Other safety features include Hill-start assist control, vehicle stability management, emergency stop signal and ABS with EBD. The Turbo version comes with all-4 disc brakes and electric parking brake.

The Verna sedan also comes fitted with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It offers several safety features like forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning & avoidance assist, lane keeping & departure assist, driver attention warning, adaptive cruise control, lane following assist, high beam assist, leading vehicle departure alert and rear cross traffic collision warning and avoidance.

Engine Specifications

The new Verna is available with two petrol engines - a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged. These are the same engine options that powers the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Kia Carens.

The naturally-aspirated engine produces 113.4hp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an IVT automatic. The turbocharged petrol engine is the most powerful in its category. It is capable of producing 157.8bhp and 253Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the turbo unit gets a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters.

Hyundai Verna Mileage

The new Hyundai Verna 1.5L NA version is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.6kmpl with manual gearbox and 19.6kmpl with IVT. On the other hand, the turbo is claimed to be more efficient than the NA unit. The 1.5L turbo manual offers a certified mileage of 20kmpl, while the DCT version delivers 20.6kmpl.

Dimensions of new Verna

Compared to the previous model, the all-new Hyundai verna is longer and has the segment-largest wheelbase. It measures 4,535mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,475mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670mm. The sedan's wheelbase is even longer than the VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia (offering 2,651mm long wheelbase). The hugely successful Honda City has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The sedan also has the segment-best width of 1,765mm, which ensures more shoulder room in the second-row.

What is the boot space of Hyundai Verna?

The new Verna sedan offers the segment-largest boot space of 528-litres, which is more than sufficient to carry 3-4 suitcases and weekend bags. Its direct rivals, Honda City and Skoda Slavia offers 506-litres and 521-litres of boot space, respectively.

The new Verna sedan is available in 7 monotone and 2 dual-tone color options. The monotone color options include Starry Night, Tellurian Brown, Atlas White, Abyss Black, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red and Titan Grey. The dual-tone options include Fiery Red with Black, and Atlas Town with Black roof.
