Is Toyota Innova Hycross Worth Buying?

The Toyota Innova Hycross is a versatile MPV that offers a sharp interior and relaxed performance. It is well-suited to families and people who want comfort in addition to their daily routine. It comes in six broad variants GX, GX (O), VX, VX (O), ZX, and ZX (O), priced from Rs 19.77 lakh to Rs 30.98 lakh (ex-showroom). When buying a new car, the things that matter include budget, intended use, fuel efficiency, comfort & ride quality, and safety features. So buyers can make a well-decided choice that will effectively meet one's personal needs and preferences. Design And Build Quality The Innova Hycross makes a bold statement on the roads. Toyota has tried its best to retain the ideal Innova design with things like side panel accents while giving it a more modern flavor and distinction. The Hycross has square proportions, a heavy on-road presence, a big brawny grille, sleek LED headlamps, and prominent DRLs at the front fascia. Its roofline, bonnet, flared wheel arches, or the area of the C-pillar have been hardened more than the Innova Crysta, giving a more muscular look to the Hycross. At the back, things are much more soberly done. There is a large chrome accent spanning the width of the tailgate, wrap-around taillights, and an integrated spoiler. Even the 18-inch alloy wheels, though large, look a tad undersized for the Hycross's size Performance & Dimensions The Innova Hycross will be offered two different engine options to meet varied requirements, first, a 2-liter petrol engine paired with an electric motor. It produces 186PS of power through an e-CVT transmission. Second, a non-electrified variant with 175PS for power and 209Nm for torque mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Claims have been made about its returning fuel efficiency of 16.13kmpl for the former and 23.24kmpl respectively. On a space note, the Innova Hycross has quite a spacious 991litres of boot space with the third row folded down. The ground clearance also rises to 185mm. Dimensions are 4755mm in length, 1845mm in width, and 1790mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2850mm. It makes it about 20mm longer and wider than the Innova Crysta. Comfort And Ride Quality The Toyota Innova Hycross focuses more on comfort with features such as power steering, front, and rear power windows, air conditioning with heater, adjustable steering, and height-adjustable driver seat. It is an attempt to offer comfort on the journey to all occupants. Inside, the Innova Hycross offers ample cabin space with ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats, and auto climate control. Ambient illumination and a soft-touch dashboard allow for comfort in the vehicle. A panoramic sunroof is also added for an extensive view. It gives room and comfort for travel on the road, making it one of the strongest options for families and travelers. Safety Features The Innova Hycross also gets safety features like up to six airbags that would help in better protection at the time of a collision. It will also get ABS with EBD, which helps with efficient braking on slippery roads. The addition of rear parking sensors and a parking camera makes it easier to handle the vehicle in tight spaces. All-wheel disc brakes ensure responsive braking performance for improved safety. The Electronic Stability Program makes sure to stabilize the vehicle and keep control of sudden maneuvers. Tyre pressure monitoring system would flash a light if there was low pressure on the tires to ensure safety on the roads. ISOFIX mounts hold child seats tightly in one place, which is a safety feature for kids. Hill Hold Assist does not allow rolling backward of the vehicle on inclines. The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) is also available in this Hycross.  Features & Technology Advanced infotainment comes in the form of a 10.1-inch touchscreen system on the Toyota Innova Hycross. Additionally, it gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for more fluent smartphone connectivity. The audio system is further supported by the JBL Premium Audio System. It consists of four speakers, four tweeters, and one bass subwoofer. The infotainment system is equipped with capacitive touch and flick & drag features for intuitive operation. The highest level of convenience in accessing applications or media with wireless support without requiring the insertion of cables. The 7-inch digital cluster offers clear and full information related to the vehicle. Conclusion The Toyota Innova Hycross is essentially an upgrade from the previous model of the Innova, with its more upmarket and SUV-inspired design. It has a much more spacious, feature-laden interior, not to mention the smooth hybrid powertrain. While the higher price tag and lack of a diesel option may be a barrier for some. The Hycross is an excellent choice for families and those who prioritize comfort, space, and advanced safety features. It represents a compelling evolution of the Innova nameplate, catering to a wise set of buyers who seek a modern and premium MPV experience. Read Also: Why Are Toyota Cars So Reliable? Top 9 Reasons

5 Hybrid Cars Cheaper By Up To Rs. 3 Lakh in UP - Grand Vitara, City

The Uttar Pradesh government has waived registration tax on strong hybrid cars to promote green mobility. Until last month, the ex-showroom price of four-wheelers under Rs. 10 lakh attracted 8% road tax and those priced above were subject to 10% duty. Notably, the state government also offers a 100% registration tax exemption for electric vehicles. This has resulted in popular hybrid cars like the Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Innova Hycross and Honda City e:HEV seeing a price drop of up to Rs. 3 lakh. This might be a good time to buy a hybrid with the festive season just approaching soon. We have put together a list of five bestsellers in the segment for your consideration. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder/ Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara The range-topping Urban Cruiser Hyryder V trim carries a road tax of Rs. 1.85 lakh, which is now removed. Considering its erstwhile on-road price of Rs. 23.22 lakh, this reduction would bring it close to the G variant at Rs. 21.68 lakh.  Similarly, Maruti’s Grand Vitara has become cheaper by Rs. 2 lakh. If you were to include an extended warranty and accessories with your purchase of Alpha Plus Hybrid model, expect an on-road price of Rs. 21.40 lakh. Suzuki exclusively sells the SUV via its Nexa showrooms. As for technical specifications, the SUVs share a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol motor capable of generating 92 horsepower and 122 Nm of pull force. Transmission duties are handled by an e-CVT unit and with the hybrid setup, this Toyota-developed powertrain returns a mileage of nearly 28 kmpl. Toyota Innova Hycross/ Maruti Suzuki Invicto Toyota recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in June at 27, 474 units, 9,412 of which were Innova Hycross SUVs. Savings on the hybrid vehicle range from Rs. 2.53 lakh to Rs. 3.10 lakh, translating to new entry and exit on-road prices of Rs. 27,63,470 and Rs. 32,89,521, respectively. Toyota has so far sold nearly 53,000 units of the Innova Hycross this year. With road tax gone, Toyota expects a substantial increase in the sales of its bestselling product. As for the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, the SUV shares a majority of its underpinnings with Toyota Innova Hycross. While Invicto misses out on features like a nine-speaker setup, ottoman seats and ADAS, it can be a great alternative to its Toyota rival when it comes to pricing. The on-road prices of the hybrid trims go from Rs. 29.24 lakh to Rs. 33.50 lakh. Depending on the variant, there will be a reduction of up to Rs. 2.64 lakh post UP government’s mandate.  Honda City e:HEV The Honda City e:HEV comes in two variants - V and ZX - costing Rs. 21.89 lakh to Rs. 23.67 lakh, on-road. It is the only strong hybrid sedan currently on offer in that price bracket and with Rs. 2 lakh road tax being slashed, the City hybrid will now be available under Rs. 20 lakh making it extreme value for money.  Honda has equipped the City e:HEV with a 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine in FWD format paired to an e-CVT. Its 0.74 kWh battery pack sits under the rear seats and takes the combined output to 124.2 hp and 253 Nm. But it doesn’t stop there. For an over Rs. 20 lakh sedan, the fuel efficiency of 27.13 kmpl is class-leading. The non-hybrid City returns up to 18 kilometres per litre.  Also read - Mahindra Thar 5-Door Vs 3-Door: What To Expect? From Thar Armada to New Dzire - List of Upcoming Cars Before Diwali
