Lexus India has launched the updated LC500h sports coupe in India at a starting price of Rs 2.39 crore (ex-showroom). The 2023 model has been updated with an all-new infotainment system along with some exterior tweaks. Moreover, the overall pricing has been increased by Rs 10 lakh. Lexus LC500h: New Changes The exterior of the LC500h remains identical to the outgoing model except for a new grille design. It also receives newly designed, 21-inch alloy wheels with a black finish. The biggest change to the 2023 Lexus LC500h coupe is the new infotainment system. The automaker has replaced the old 10.3-inch display and touchpad with the new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with easy access to the driver. The internal combustion produces a power output of 295 bhp and 348 Nm while its electric motors generate 176 bhp of power with 330 Nm of max torque. Lexus India has introduced the fifth-gen RX SUV in the country, with prices starting from Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike earlier models which were more expensive in India than in other markets, the new hybrid SUV has been priced more competitively. The new model was first showcased in the country at the start of the year during Auto Expo 2023. 2023 Lexus RX: Exterior Design The new RX features Lexus’ new Alluring X design language. At the front, it gets the brands trademark spindle grille flanked by slim LED headlights and DRLs while the bumper houses the sculpted air intakes. Move to the side and you will notice the flared wheelarches, strong shoulder line, and a curved windowline. The rear end gets a steeply-raked windscreen, bootlid spoiler, and sleek full-width LED taillights. The RX500h also gets the F-Sport body kit that adds some sportier elements over the standard model. 2023 Lexus RX: Interior Design and Features For the fifth-gen RX’s interior, Lexus has adopted its Tazuna (Japanese for rein) concept. The automaker defines it as being “human-centric” that aims to connect the driver to the road for better concentration. The brand is offering three interior colour options - Solis White, Black, and Dark Sepia - and two trim options including medium bamboo brown or sumi wood grain. In terms of features, the RX gets a 14-inch infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, a HUD, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto support, powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and more. 2023 Lexus RX: Powertrain Details Lexus will offer the RX with two powertrain options. The RX350h is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol motor paired with an electric motor, making a combined 250 bhp with 242 Nm of max torque. It is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. The RX500h uses a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol motor that is mated to an electric motor as well. Combined, it makes 371 bhp with 460 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The automaker stated that the new RX gets a bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery that uses less toxic metals and generates high peak power. The RX350h features a 259.2V battery, while the RX500h gets a 288V battery. The price of the upcoming Lexus UX SUV is expected to be in the range of Rs 35 to Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
The estimated launch date of the upcoming Lexus UX SUV is set around October 2022.
The Lexus UX SUV will be based on the brand’s GA-C platform. It will be offered with a choice of a mild-hybrid, hybrid and full electric powertrain options.
The upcoming Lexus UX SUV will compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Volvo XC40.
