Maruti Suzuki Celerio is currently the company’s largest budget hatchback on sale in the country. A familiar model in the global market since 2008, the Celerio has spawned two generations and numerous facelifts during its lifecycle.

The Maruti Celerio was featured as the A-Wind Concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. It is a direct successor to the Maruti A-Star, which was available for purchase between 2008 and 2014. The latest update introduced a brand-new design language on the model along with more features than before.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Exterior

The 2023 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is designed around the brand’s new ‘3D Organic Sculpted’ design. The New Maruti Celerio has been redesigned compared to the last generation model. It features more rounded corners, as well as new front and rear bumpers. The headlamp units have a sweeping design, and the tail lamps are shaped like droplets.

Other new bits on the exterior include 15-inch black alloy wheels, request sensor on driver-side door, blacked-out B-pillars, rear wiper & washer, body coloured ORVMs with turn indicators.

The new model has a tall boy design, similar to the WagonR. However, the corners have been rounded off to give a wider visual appearance. Overall, this creates a more aesthetically pleasing look.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Interior and Features

Interior:
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio features a familiar dashboard as seen on cars like the Alto K10 and the WagonR. The cabin is finished in an all-black theme and features hard plastics all around.

Features:
Maruti Celerio features a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The central display is also equipped to provide information on vehicle telematics on the go.

Other equipment on offer include engine start-stop button, height adjustable driver seat, front power windows, digital instrument cluster and a new three spoke steering wheel with audio controls.

Safety:
In terms of safety, the Celerio gets 2 airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, a rear defogger and Hill Start Assist (only on the automatic variants).

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Price and Variants

Maruti Celerio price in India starts from Rs 5.37 lakh and extends to Rs 7.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The model is available in 8 variants - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ with both manual and automatic transmissions. The CNG powertrain is available only on the VXI trim.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: Engine and Specification

2023 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is powered by the updated 1.0-litre K10C engine. This unit is offered with both petrol and CNG fuel type. The engine produces 66bhp and 89Nm of torque when using petrol. When using CNG, the figures drop to 56bhp and 82Nm. The New Celerio is offering a 5-speed manual and AMT (petrol only) gearbox option.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio measures 3,695mm in length, is 1,655mm wide and 1,555mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,435mm. The car gets a small 32-litre fuel tank and 15-inch alloy wheels.
