Maserati Planning to Launch 2 New Products for India in 2024

Italian premium automaker, Maserati Cars is planning to introduce the second-gen GranTurismo and Grecale SUV in India next year. The brand is slated to launch the Grecale by the first quarter of 2024 while the Gran Turismo will arrive towards the end of next year. Maserati Gran Turismo, Grecale: What Does It Look Like? The second-gen Maserati GranTurismo is more evolutionary than revolutionary, retaining the classic low-slung design with the long bonnet, signature triple vents just behind the front wheels and flowing lines. The front end gets a revised grille with a prominent Maserati Trident logo while the bumper houses the large air vents and the front splitter. It also gets new trapezoidal LED headlights with integrated DRLs. At the rear, it gets new triangular LED taillights that are sharper, a sculpted bootlid, and quad exhausts. In terms of design, the Maserati Grecale is similar to the larger Levante but also incorporates a few elements from the new MC20 like the sporty, low stance and the large grille. The side profile features slightly flared wheel arches, trademark Maserati triple vents on the fender, and the Trident logo on the C-Pillar. At the rear, it gets sleek LED tail lights, a raked windscreen, and a boot lid spoiler. The sportier Grecale Trofeo gets bespoke bumpers, chrome detailing on the front grille, and a wider rear track over the GT and Modena. Maserati GranTurismo, Grecale: How Is It Inside? The changes to the interior of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo are much more radical than the exterior. It features a new four-screen setup that declutters the cabin by moving most of the physical button features to the displays. There’s a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, an 8.8-inch climate control touchpad, and a digital clock placed atop the dashboard that can also display other data and features. Most of the remaining physical buttons are now found on the three-spoke steering wheel. Maserati is using largely the same interior design on the Grecale as the GranTurismo, with only a few minor changes. Maserati GranTurismo, Grecale: Powertrain Details Powering the GranTurismo is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 490 bhp with 600 Nm of peak torque in the Modena variant. In the sportier Trofeo trim, the motor pumps out 550 bhp with 650 Nm of max torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard on both variants. The Grecale will be available with two powertrain choices, a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid or a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol. The former is available in two states of tune, making 300 bhp with 450 Nm of peak torque or 330 bhp with 450 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the range-topping Trofeo variant’s twin-turbo V6 pumps out 530 bhp with 620 Nm of peak torque. Both motors are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Maserati Gran Turismo, Grecale: Pricing and Rivals While Maserati is yet to reveal any details about pricing, the GranTurismo will likely be priced at around Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Porsche 911 and Lamborghini Huracan EVO. The Grecale will arrive in India as a CBU (completely built unit), and will likely be positioned above its direct rival, the Porsche Macan which is priced between Rs 88 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom). However, after a number of delays, the first units are finally going to reach customers from this month. The MC20 is priced at Rs 3.69 crore (ex-showroom). Maserati MC20: Exterior Design and Interior Features Maserati MC20 has a very clean design for a modern day supercar with its flowing lines and coupe-silhouette. Inspired by the original MC12, the MC20’s front end features a low and wide front grille with a large Trident logo, full LED headlights alongside a sculpted bonnet with cutouts for airflow. The side profile provides a pair of beautiful butterfly doors, a roof finished in contrast black, and air intakes over the rear wheel arches. Towards the rear it offers a pair of slim LED tail lights, an engine cover with air vents in a Trident shape, and a fully-functioning diffuser. Like the exterior, the supercars interior provides a simple design that is covered in carbon-fibre and Alcantara leather. Notable features include a 10-inch infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, audio setup from Sonus Faber, connected car tech, Sabelt sports seats, a carbon-fibre center-console, and more. Maserati MC20: Powertrain Details It is the first car from the automaker in over 2 decades to get an in-house-developed powertrain. Dubbed the Nettuno, the engine is a 3-litre, twin-turbo, 90-degree, dry-sumped V6 that churns out 621 bhp with 730 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Maserati claims a top speed of over 325 kmph while the MC20 can dash from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds.
