Key Features of BMW i4

Features onboard include tri-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a 14.9-inch curved infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, a 17-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, voice control, cruise control, a glass roof, powered tailgate, power-adjustable front seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, plush perforated upholstery, semi-automated parking assistant systems, Servotronic Steering Assist, and air suspension on the rear axle with automatic self-levelling function.

Safety Features

Safety equipment onboard comprises six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with Brake Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Dynamic Braking lights, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), cruise control with braking function, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and 3-point seat belts for all seat.

Customers looking for the i4 get three metallic body shades to choose from: Black Sapphire, Skyscraper Grey, and Mineral White.

Battery and Motor Specifications

The Indian-spec BMW i4 employs an 83.9kWh battery pack that offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 590km on a full charge. It has a single electric motor propelling the rear wheels with a peak output of 340PS and 430Nm, enabling it to complete nought to 100kmph sprint in only 5.7 seconds. Globally, it also comes in a more powerful AWD M50 trim.

The i4 offers a WLTP-certified range between 493 to 590 on a single charge.

Charging Time

The EV has a peak DC fast charging capacity of 205kW that can juice it up from 10-80 per cent in 30 minutes, while a 50kW DC charger will take around 83 minutes for the same. Charging the vehicle fully with the 11kW AC wall box home charger will take about 8.5 hours.

Dimensions and Boot

The i4 is 4783mm long, 1852mm wide, 1448mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2856mm. It has a luggage capacity of 470 litres that can be expanded to 1,290 litres with the rear seats folded.
