Jaguar Land Rover Unveils Rebranded Logo

Following its recent announcement to rebrand Jaguar Land Rover, the automaker has now revealed the new official logo. JLR stated that the new logo embodies "elegance, modernity and the company’s forward-thinking essence". JLR: New Logo The new JLR logo is relatively simple with a minimalist design. It is also the first time the company has had a single logo. However, the brand confirmed that the new identity will not be on any of their models, instead appearing only on the brand’s revamped dealerships and website. During the new logo unveil, JLR stated that the "Land Rover brand will remain a key part of the company’s DNA". While earlier reports suggested that the new logo will be used for the cars as well, the automaker confirmed that it will still use the signature oval badge on its models. JLR Chief Creative Office Gerry McGovern stated that the Land Rover badge will become a “trust mark” for the Defender, Range Rover and Discovery brands. A trust mark is a logo that appears on official documentation, helping to reassure the customer about the brand’s quality.  McGovern added,  “The reality is Range Rover is a brand and so is Defender. Customers say they own a Range Rover. In luxury, you need absolute clarity. Land Rover Range Rover SV Autobiography doesn’t give it. We love Land Rover, but there isn't as much equity as Range Rover, and Defender is increasing massively.” Read Also: Upcoming Car Launches in June 2023 JLR: Jaguar Gets Renewed Emphasis While Land Rover will still produce ICE-powered vehicles, its sister brand Jaguar is transitioning into a pure-electric luxury car maker. Jaguar CEO Adrian Mardell stated this is something “very personal” and “unfinished business” for him. He also said, “The Jaguar of 32 years ago is where we’re going back to and the right place for us to be." JLR: Order Backlog To Reduce Soon JLR currently has a record 200,000 order backlog. More than 75% of the orders are for the new Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and the Land Rover Defender. Adrian Mardell said that this has started to reduce, with JLR building stronger and deeper relationships with chip manufacturers. He also stated that the future supply of chips is now secured, and will start deliveries soon. Read Also: Next-Gen Porsche Panamera to be Unveiled by Q4 2023

Jaguar to Reveal 4-Door GT in 2024

Jaguar is set to undergo one of the biggest changes in its storied history. The automaker will be reborn from nearly the ground up in the next couple of years. Now, as part of its JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) reimagine strategy, the manufacturer has announced that the first car in its all-new product lineup will be a four-door electric GT. It will be revealed in 2024 and will hit showrooms in 2025 with prices starting from over Rs 1.02 crore. The new GT will be the most powerful Jaguar ever, becoming the first of three models in the new Jaguar range. Here is what we know so far. New Jaguar Electric GT: Exterior Design Gerry McGovern, the Chief Creative Officer of JLR, stated it was an “honour” to be asked to lead the rebirth of “a brand as loved and cherished”. He also said that the styling of the upcoming GT would be “the copy of nothing”, the philosophy and mantra Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons used to have. The legendary E-Type and XJS will serve as a reference for the new GT, with Jaguar aiming for a brave but beautiful design language going forward. It will be a clean-slate design that will bear no resemblance to the current Jaguar model lineup. “The E-Type in its time looked like it had dropped from space," Mcgovern stated. "The XJS was equally compelling and a copy of nothing. The designs of current Jaguars aren’t bad. The strategy was more one of universal appeal and chasing more mainstream premium, which made the cars more normal. We want to go back to the old philosophy. It’s a complete reimagining.” New Jaguar Electric GT: Platform and Powertrain Details. The new electric GT will be underpinned by an all-new EV architecture that is called JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture). It will have a range of up to 700 kms while the dual electric motor setup will deliver 580 bhp of power. No concrete details regarding the battery pack have been revealed but as per the British manufacturer it will offer 322 kms of range with a quick 15-minute charge. New Jaguar Electric GT: Will it come to India? Jaguar, along with sister brand Land Rover, already sell most of its models in India. The new electric GT is expected to be introduced in our country following the global launch. Read Also: Next-Gen Range Rover Velar to be Electric: Report
