Mercedes-Benz India launched the EQB in December 2022 at a price tag of Rs 74.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It shares the same architecture as the Mercedes GLB and retains its basic design silhouette. That said, the SUV looks different due to its reprofiled front and rear bumpers, blanked-off front grille, and a full-width LED light bar located both in the front and towards the rear. Further the headlight and taillight design have also been tweaked. Even its interior layout is quite similar to the GLA and GLB except for the golden inserts found on its turbine-like air vents. Another key highlight of the EQB is its 7-seater configuration that boosts practicality. Apart from this, Mercedes-Benz offers eye-catching 64-colour ambient lighting inside and other features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch displays (driver’s display and an infotainment touchscreen), a powered tailgate alongside electrically-adjustable front seats. The EQB is equipped with a powerful 66.5kWh battery pack offering a range of up to 423 kms on a single full charge. Talking about safety then the four-wheeler provides 7 airbags with ADAS features like Forward Collision Warning, Child Lock, High-beam Assist, Anti-theft Engine immobilizer, Lane Departure, and more. Mercedes Benz GLB Along with the EQB, Mercedes-Benz also launched its 3-row GLB luxury SUV in the country at a price range of Rs 63.8 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant and Rs 69.8 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec diesel trim. Mercedes-Benz GLB is the latest addition to the brand's lineup of vehicles. Its robust lines and distinctive rear ensure that the SUV stands apart. On the inside, the GLB provides electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support & memory function, wireless charging, two-zone climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting, and more. Its 7 airbags ensure the safety of its occupants at all times. Using its Easy-Pack tailgate feature, one can easily load and unload the boot conveniently at the click of a button. Overall, the GLB offers decent driving dynamics, a good practicality package, and loads of features which make this car worth buying. Mercedes AMG E53 Cabriolet 4MATIC+ Another premium and exciting vehicle from the German brand is Mercedes-AMG E 53 Cabriolet 4Matic+. Its striking charisma drew everyone closer. Launched in January 2023 at a price tag of Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom), this model is the fourth 53-badged product in the country after the E 53 sedan, GLE 53 coupe-SUV, and EQS 53 sedan. The AMG E53 4Matic offers the luxury of a convertible and supercar performance. The two-door convertible provides an interior which is highlighted via a black theme that offers red stitching on its upholstery. Further, carbon fibre inserts can be found on the dashboard and centre console. The availability of a dual screen of 12.3-inch (MBUX infotainment and entertainment digital setup) provides all the essential information to the driver. With the expressive AMG styling, its exterior look is a statement of sensory dynamism. Mercedes-Benz India Plans for 2023 When the AMG E53 Cabriolet was introduced, the company shared its strategy for 2023 in order to improve its sales. One of their strategies revealed by the automaker was to "think and act like a luxury brand". As said by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Santosh Iyer, there will be a total of 10 new models released this year; the majority of upcoming Mercedes car models will be in the top-spec and would fall into the EV category. Some of the most popular features offered by Mercedes-Benz include ventilated and massaging seats, large touchscreen units, 3D HUD, and adjustable suspension, 64 colour ambient lighting, Burmester surround sound system among others. Safety features on board a Mercedes Benz include standards like ABD with EBD, ESP, Traction control, numerous airbags and more. Attention assist is a feature that can remind the driver to take a break if it detects that the driver is fatigued. Adaptive headlights can adjust the light beam pattern to better illuminate the road ahead based on conditions such as rain or snow. For the safety of the people on the road, the brand has come up with the Active Bonnet feature which minimizes pedestrian injuries by lifting the rear edge of the hood when you are involved in an accident. Mercedes-Benz India has now launched the 2023 A-Class range with updated styling and features. The A-Class range includes the Mercedes-Benz A 200 Limousine and the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ facelift. While the former is priced at Rs 45.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the latter is priced at Rs 92.50 lakh (ex-showroom). At launch, the new A-Class Limousine is offered with only a petrol engine with a diesel unit set to join the line-up by Q4 2023. These include a redesigned grille, new 17-inch 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels and refreshed LED headlamp and tail lamp units. Moving to the inside, the cabin gets dual 10.25-inch screens with the latest generation MBUX software. Other notable changes include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an upgraded Mercedes Me app that comes with the 'Hey Mercedes' voice assistant, and improved telematics. In terms of safety, the car is now offered with seven airbags with the inclusion of a knee airbag as standard. It is also provided with a keyless Go and hands-free access to the boot with the sensor beneath the rear bumper. Talking about the powertrain, the A 200 Limousine takes power from a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine while the diesel options use the 2.0-litre oil burner. AMG A 45 4MATIC: What’s New? Like the standard model, the performance hatch also gets minor visual tweaks. These include revised headlights and AMG-specific radiator design. Mercedes offers the AMG rear Aerofoil as an accessory for customers who want to make their A45 S more sporty. On the inside, updates are limited to new aluminium AMG design trim elements with a black and silver finish. Talking about the powertrain, the new Mercedes AMG A45 S continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is rated for 415 bhp of maximum power output. The motor comes mated to an 8G AMG SpeedShift transmission, sending power to all four wheels through the 4MATIC+AWD system. The four-wheeler can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will be launching the SL roadster in India next month. Currently, in its 7th Generation, the convertible will arrive as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Upon launch, it will become the second Mercedes convertible on sale in India, following the E-Class Cabriolet. We take a closer look. Mercedes-Benz SL: What Is It? The SL is the flagship two-door convertible for Mercedes-Benz. It is also one of the oldest nameplates in the brand’s history, going back to 190 SL in the 50s. In India, the brand had previously offered the 5th-gen model in 2012. The latest 7th-Generation SL also replaces the S-Class Cabriolet, AMG GT Roadster and the previous-gen SL in the automaker’s global lineup. In terms of design, the New SL looks much sportier than the older model with its wide Panamericana grille, angular digital headlights, and sculpted bonnet. Move to the sides and you will notice the short overhangs, flared wheel arches, and a soft-top roof. Towards the rear, the vehicle provides sleek LED tail lights, quad exhausts, and an integrated rear spoiler. Mercedes-Benz SL: Powertrain Details The brand will be bringing the 2023 SL in its AMG 55 guise to India. Powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo petrol motor, it delivers 478 bhp with 700 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is handled by a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
