Audi Q9

Audi will launch its new flagship SUV, the 3-row giant, the Audi Q9 SUV in the Indian market before the end of this financial year. The big news is that the company is planning to locally assemble the new Q9 SUV at Skoda-Volkswagen’s Aurangabad facility, which will allow Audi to price it competitively.

Exact launch timeline for the new Q9 is yet to be announced. We expect the new Q9 to launch in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2027.

Audi Q9 Expected Price in India

The new Audi Q9 is expected to be priced in the range of ₹1.25 Cr.* to ₹1.40 Cr.*, ex-showroom.

Key Features

The new Audi Q9 features a bold and modern look. It comes with a large hexagon-patterned grille, flanked by split headlamp setup. The lower bumper houses a wider air dam with matching hexagonal elements. At the back, the SUV gets a sleek roof spoiler and a lightbar that spans its entire width.

The Audi Q9 comes with a curved triple-screen dashboard, comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen with a privacy mode and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen. Most of the functions, including the AC will be operated via the touchscreen. However, the volume knobs will continue to be on offer.

The SUV cabin features wood trims, Dinamica microfibre, Nappa leather and a wool upholstery. It gets a wireless phone charger, USB-C ports in all three rows,and  a 22-speaker, 1,360-watt Bang & Olufsen 4D audio system with headrest speakers. All four doors are power-operated, opening and closing of doors at the touch of a button. It comes with a panoramic sunroof, which uses electrochromic glass with nine individual switchable segments.

The new Q9 is packed with LEVEL 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, auto emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and automated parking. It also gets Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, which allows partially automated driving on approved highways at up to 130 kph. It has a boot space of 280-litres, which can be extended up to 850-litres with a power foldable third-row seat.

Engine Specifications

The new Audi Q9 is likely to be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine producing 367hp and 550Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This is Audi’s latest generation single-turbo V6 with a variable-geometry turbocharger and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

Competition

The new Audi Q9 will directly rival the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the BMW X7.
