Audi Q9 has been revealed as the brand’s new flagship SUV and will launch in India in 2027. The UK-spec Q9 gets a 3.0-litre V6 diesel producing 300bhp and 630Nm. The seven-seat luxury SUV will rival the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS in India.
Audi has revealed the all-new Q9, which will become the brand’s new flagship SUV. The full-size luxury SUV is now on sale in the UK, with prices starting at £103,900, or around Rs 1.18 crore. The Audi Q9 is confirmed to launch in India in 2027.
The new Q9 will sit above the Q7 in Audi’s SUV range and will compete with large luxury SUVs such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. It gets three rows of seats, a large cabin and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine in its UK specification.
Audi’s Largest SUV Yet
The Q9 measures 5,310mm in length, 2,210mm in width and 1,810mm in height. It has a 3,140mm wheelbase and comes with seven seats as standard. The large dimensions give the Q9 a spacious cabin, while the long wheelbase is expected to provide more room for passengers in the second and third rows. This could also make the SUV well suited to chauffeur-driven buyers in India.

300bhp V6 Diesel
The UK-spec Audi Q9 is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 300bhp and 630Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. It also gets mild-hybrid technology, which can allow the SUV to perform certain driving functions electrically while improving throttle response. Audi has not yet confirmed which engine or powertrain will be offered with the India-spec Q9.
Premium Three-Row Cabin
The Q9 gets a three-row cabin with seven seats as standard. Its size and long wheelbase are aimed at providing a more spacious interior, particularly for passengers in the rear. The SUV will sit at the top of Audi’s SUV range, bringing a larger and more premium option to the brand’s line-up in India.
India Launch and Rivals
Audi has confirmed that the Q9 will arrive in India in 2027. It will be positioned above the Q7 and will enter a segment that includes the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. The Q9’s seven-seat layout and focus on rear-seat comfort could be important in India, where large luxury SUVs are also popular with chauffeur-driven owners.
India-specific pricing and specifications will be announced closer to its launch. The UK model starts at £103,900, but the India price is expected to be significantly different due to local taxes and import-related costs.
