October 3, 2025 - Kia has officially launched the EV9 flagship electric SUV in the Indian market. Available in a single top-spec EV9 GT Line variant, the electric SUV is priced at Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). The electric SUV is packed with a 99.8kWh battery pack offering a certified range of 561km.
The Kia EV9 is available in a single variant, GT-Line. The EV9 GT-LIne electric SUV is priced at Rs 12990000, ex-showroom, pan India.
Most Value for Money Variant
Since the Kia EV9 is available only in one variant, it's the best in terms of value for money. What brings the top-class features and advanced technologies together is the GT Line, which is also a competitive option in the luxury electric SUV segment.
It features an array of features, which it would surely do to draw attention within the electric market:
Two 12.3-inch infotainment and driver displays
5.3-inch display for all climate controls
11-inch head-up display (HUD) for significant driving functions
Two single-pane sunroofs for the first and second row
3-zone automatic AC.
Relaxation features with leg support for the first and second rows.
Heated and ventilated seats for comfort.
This flagship SUV is equipped with several high-end comfort and convenience features. It gets the digital pattern lighting grille with intelligent Ice Cube LED Projection Headlamps, dual sunroof, 2nd row captain seats with massage function, digital IRVM, Head-up Display with wind-shield projection, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), automatic climate control and others.
The electric SUV comes with a Trinity Panoramic Display that incorporates a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 5-inch screen for climate control. The SUV also gets over the air software updates and ADAS Level-2 with 27 autonomous features.
Safety was not an issue for the Kia EV9, as the car comes with several active and passive safety features. The SUV also gets Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) with features like forward collision-avoidance assistance, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam and others.
Other safety features include 10 Airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), DBC (Downhill Brake Control), MCB (Multi Collision Brake), BAS (Brake Assist System), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESS (Emergency Stop Signal), Front, Side & Rear Parking Sensors, and All-wheel Disc Brakes.
The Kia EV9 GT-Line is packed with a 99.8 kWh battery pack with a dual-motor set-up for AWD layout. It has two permanent magnet synchronous motors, one on each axle. The combined power and torque output stands at 379bhp and 700Nm, respectively.
The electric SUV is claimed to offer a certified range of around 561km in a single charge. This means that the long distance can be covered without frequent recharging.
The Kia EV9 GT Line battery support DC fast charging of up to 350kW. The battery can achieve 10-80% charging status within a jiffy at 24 minutes. It means that it is one of the handier options for electric vehicle users.
It is a full-sized 3-row SUV, which is longer than 5 meters. It measures 5010mm in length, 1980mm in width and 1780mm in height. This electric SUV rides on 3100mm long wheelbase, ensuring spacious cabin to accommodate 7 adults comfortably.
Boot Space: There's a fair amount of boot space that's perfect for family and travel. The figures are configuration spacific, but even so, the design has been optimized to maximize usability. The Kia EV9 7-seater is claimed to offer a boot space of 333-litres with all seats in position. Adding to it, the SUV has a space under the bonnet that offers 52-litres of space.
It comes in numerous sophisticated colors, and the buyer can opt for their favorite finish. While some may differ regionally, there are some colors, which are quite typical. It is offered in 4 paint schemes - Gravity Grey, Snow White Pearl, Interstellar Grey and Robotic Beige.
There are some high-end electric SUVs in the market that compete with the Kia EV9, but this car is surprisingly good compared to some heavyweights including BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and Audi e-tron. This lot often costs more yet is pretty much at the same level when talking of technology and luxury.
Pros:
All-new advanced infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch monitors
Comes with high safety norms, 10 airbags, along with ADAS
Pretty impressive range per charge at 561km
Luxury seat with heating and ventilation
Cons:

Very limited infrastructure for fast charging
