The South Korean automaker, Kia has been working on expanding its electric car lineup in the international market. The brand has plans to showcase new models and concepts at the second annual EV Day event. One of these is a PV5, which is Kia's first electric van unveiled ahead of its debut at the event. It has been confirmed that the van would offered in two body types, Passenger and Cargo.
To get more insights on the model, let's have a look at the teaser images.
It has been officially confirmed by the brand that the PV5 will be offered in two configurations, Passenger and Cargo. Though both of these will share the same fundamental design, the Cargo version eliminates the back seats for maximum storage space.
As for the design language, the electric can follow a minimalistic pattern enhanced by a lot of glass area. The front fascia features vertical DRLs running along the hood. Meanwhile, the headlights of the EV are embedded in the lower bumper filling the gap right above the lower grille.
The Passenger version of the van has a single lift-up tailgate, whereas the Cargo version features dual side-opening rear doors for much more convenient loading and unloading.
Kia has yet to fully show the electric Van, so it is expected that it will come with a dual-screen setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, along with sturdy grab handles on the A-pillars.
The engine specs are also not revealed by the brand, likely reserving the major reveal to be at the EV Day event in Tarragona, Spain.
