New Audi Q3 Local Production Begins – India Launch on October 16
New Audi Q3 local production has started in India ahead of its October 16 launch. The India-spec SUV will get a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with around 204 hp and 320 Nm. Bookings are already open at Rs 1 lakh through Audi's online channels and dealerships.
Audi has started local production of the third-generation Q3 in India. The new luxury SUV is being assembled at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The new Audi Q3 will be launched in India on October 16, 2026. Audi had opened bookings for the SUV on September 1, with the booking amount set at Rs 1 lakh. Bookings can be made through Audi's official website, the myAudi Connect application and authorised dealerships.
New Audi Q3 Engine and Gearbox
The India-spec Audi Q3 will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. It produces around 204 hp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. This will make the Q3 an all-wheel-drive luxury SUV in its segment.
Globally, the new Q3 is available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains, depending on the market. International versions can also be equipped with different suspension setups, including standard, sport and two-valve damper options.

New Audi Q3 Gets a Fresh Design
The third-generation Q3 gets a major design update over the outgoing model. At the front, the SUV features a larger Singleframe grille, while the slimmer headlamps are positioned higher on the fascia. The bonnet and shoulder sections feature sharper lines, giving the SUV a more modern look. The Matrix LED headlamps use micro-LED modules, while each daytime running light gets 23 individual segments. At the rear, the Q3 gets a full-width lighting element. Higher variants can also be equipped with digital OLED tail lamps and illuminated Audi rings.
Audi Q3 Interior and Features
The cabin has also received a major redesign. One of the biggest changes is the relocation of the gear selector from the centre console to the steering column. This frees up more space between the front seats for storage. A separate stalk is used for the lighting and wiper functions.
The dashboard gets Audi's latest digital interface, while acoustic glass for the front windows is designed to reduce outside noise. The rear bench can slide forward and backward, while the backrest angle can also be adjusted. This allows occupants to choose between more rear legroom or additional luggage space.
New Audi Q3 Boot Space
The new Audi Q3 offers 488 litres of boot space with the rear seats in their standard position. With the second row folded, the luggage capacity increases to 1,386 litres. The sliding rear bench further improves flexibility, allowing the cabin to be adjusted based on the number of passengers or amount of luggage. The SUV can also tow up to 2,100 kg, depending on the selected variant.

Audi Q3 Gets New Driver Assistance Features
Audi has upgraded the Q3's safety and driver assistance technology as well. An interior camera can monitor the driver for signs of fatigue and distraction. The adaptive cruise control and lane assistance systems also get additional functions. The parking system can store complex parking manoeuvres and reproduce them later. This feature can be useful when parking in narrow garages or frequently used parking spaces.
With local production now underway, Audi is preparing to bring the new Q3 to Indian customers on October 16. More details, including pricing and variant-wise equipment, are expected to be announced at the launch.
