Mahindra Vision S gets vertically stacked LED taillights with a connected light bar The new SUV will be based on Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform Petrol, diesel and electric powertrains are expected
Mahindra is working on the new Vision S SUV, and more details about its design are emerging. The upcoming SUV will have a boxy shape and is set to be based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform. One of the key design highlights will be its connected LED taillight setup at the rear. The new design gives the SUV a wider look and adds a modern touch.
Connected Taillights and Boxy Design
The Mahindra Vision S will feature vertically stacked LED taillights on both sides of the rear. These units will be linked by an LED light bar that runs across the tailgate. The SUV will also get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, keeping its traditional SUV character. Another set of brake lights will be positioned on the sides of the rear windshield, similar to the setup seen on the current Scorpio range. Other exterior details include dual-tone alloy wheels, a high-mounted stop lamp and new front and rear bumpers.

New Six-Slot Grille
At the front, the Vision S will get a new six-slot grille. Each section of the grille features three horizontal slats, giving the SUV a wide front appearance. The front end will also feature a wide air dam and fog lights. Combined with its upright stance and boxy proportions, the design is expected to give the Vision S a strong road presence.
Mahindra Vision S Interior Features
Inside, the upcoming SUV is expected to get a modern dashboard layout. The feature list could include a two-spoke steering wheel and an engine start-stop button. The cabin is also expected to get vertically positioned triangular AC vents and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other expected features include dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and black seat upholstery. Mahindra is also expected to retain physical buttons for the air-conditioning functions, making them easier to operate while driving.
Petrol, Diesel and Electric Powertrains Expected
Mahindra has not revealed the technical specifications of the Vision S yet. However, the new SUV is expected to be offered with multiple powertrain options. The lineup could include turbo-petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. Both manual and automatic transmission options are also likely.
An optional 4WD system could also be offered on selected variants, adding more off-road capability to the SUV. More details about the Vision S, including its engine specifications, battery details and launch timeline, are expected to be revealed closer to its market launch.
