The Vision S gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen inspired by existing Mahindra SUVs. The upcoming SUV will feature a boxy design with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Both ICE and electric powertrain options are expected.
Mahindra is working on a new SUV based on its modular NU_IQ platform, and fresh details have now emerged about the Vision S. The upcoming SUV is expected to enter production in 2027 and will feature several familiar elements from Mahindra’s current models.
The Vision S was first showcased alongside other NU_IQ-based SUVs on August 15, 2025. The platform has been designed to support both internal combustion engine and electric powertrains, giving Mahindra flexibility for future versions of the SUV.
The latest details mainly reveal what to expect from the Vision S inside the cabin and how closely its production version could stay to the concept.
The Vision S is expected to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Its design and positioning appear similar to the setup seen in the Thar Roxx. The digital instrument cluster is also expected to have dimensions similar to Mahindra’s existing models.
The cabin will feature concept-like AC vents, while the HVAC controls are likely to use physical buttons rather than a fully touch-based setup. An electronic parking brake is also positioned on the centre console. The steering wheel seen in the latest interior details is borrowed from the BE 6 and XEV 9e. However, this could be changed before the SUV reaches production.

The Vision S will retain a rugged and upright SUV profile. Earlier design details showed L-shaped lighting elements, a vertically slatted grille and projector headlights similar to those seen on the Thar Roxx. The SUV also gets a full-size spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, adding to its traditional SUV appearance. The overall design is expected to remain close to the Vision S concept showcased by Mahindra.
The NU_IQ platform has been developed to accommodate both ICE and electric powertrains. The Vision S has also been spotted with a diesel engine, suggesting that an internal combustion version will be part of the production plan. An electric version is also expected as Mahindra expands its EV portfolio. This flexible platform could allow the company to offer different powertrain options without developing completely separate architectures.
The Vision S is one of several SUVs planned around Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform. The Vision X, Vision T and SXT concepts have also been patented in India. The Vision series is expected to enter production in 2027. More details about the Vision S, including its final design, powertrain specifications and positioning, are likely to emerge closer to its launch.
