4 Upcoming Mahindra SUVs - New Features, Design Changes and EV Plans

Thar Roxx may get better suspension. Scorpio-N facelift could add new features. Vision S SUV expected in 2027. Vision T-based electric SUV in development.

Mahindra is preparing several new SUVs for the Indian market. While some popular models are set to receive feature and design updates, two new SUVs could expand the brand’s lineup into new segments. Recent spy shots have revealed four upcoming models: an updated Thar Roxx, the Scorpio-N facelift, a compact SUV based on the Vision S concept and an electric SUV inspired by the Vision T concept. The Thar Roxx and Scorpio-N are expected to focus on better ride comfort and new cabin features. The two concept-based SUVs, meanwhile, could attract buyers looking for a compact SUV or an electric vehicle with rugged styling.

Here’s everything we know about these four upcoming Mahindra SUVs.

1. Mahindra Thar Roxx Update

The five-door Mahindra Thar Roxx has been spotted testing with DaVinci dampers, pointing to a possible suspension upgrade. Mahindra has already introduced this technology in the XUV 7XO and the three-door Thar. These dampers are designed to improve ride comfort while keeping body movements under control. The update could make the Thar Roxx more comfortable on uneven roads and during daily drives, without affecting its rugged character. The test vehicle also appears to feature different alloy wheels. Other exterior changes and cabin upgrades have not been spotted so far. The updated Thar Roxx is expected to retain its existing engine options. Mahindra is yet to announce its launch date and final specifications.

2. Mahindra Scorpio-N Facelift

Mahindra is working on a facelift for the Scorpio-N. After receiving equipment updates earlier in 2026, the SUV is now expected to get more noticeable changes to its cabin and exterior. Spy shots point to a larger portrait-style touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. The dashboard layout and cabin controls could also receive a fresh design. Expected feature additions include a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. Mahindra could also update the grille, bumpers and lighting elements to give the SUV a more modern appearance. The existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are expected to continue, along with manual and automatic gearbox options. DaVinci dampers could also be part of the update, although this detail remains unconfirmed. The launch date and final feature list are yet to be announced.

3. Mahindra Vision S-Based SUV

Mahindra is developing a compact SUV based on the Vision S concept. The production model is expected to be less than four metres long, placing it in India's popular sub-four-metre SUV segment. The SUV is likely to feature an upright design, a tall cabin and rugged styling. This could make it an appealing choice for buyers who want a compact vehicle with a strong road presence. There has been speculation that Mahindra could use the Scorpio name for the new model, but its official name is still under wraps. Spy shots suggest a practical design, with independent rear suspension also expected to feature in its setup. The final production specifications have not been revealed. Petrol, diesel, electric and flex-fuel powertrains have all been discussed as possible options. Mahindra is yet to confirm which versions will be offered. The Vision S-based SUV is expected to launch in 2027. It could give Mahindra a stronger presence in the compact SUV segment and offer buyers a smaller alternative to its larger, rugged models.

4. Mahindra Vision T-Based Electric SUV

Mahindra's fourth upcoming SUV is an electric model inspired by the Vision T concept. It is expected to combine rugged styling with an all-electric powertrain. Recent test sightings suggest a five-door body, squared-off design and flared wheel arches. The production version is likely to retain some of the concept's key styling elements, adapted for everyday use. Unlike many electric SUVs designed mainly for city driving, this model is expected to have an off-road-focused character. It could appeal to buyers who want an electric vehicle with a bold design and an adventurous feel. Mahindra has not yet revealed details about the battery pack, motor output, driving range or charging speed. Its final off-road features and performance figures are also awaited. The Vision T-based electric SUV appears to be at an earlier stage of development than the updated Thar Roxx and Scorpio-N. As a result, it could arrive later than these two models. More details about its design and electric powertrain should emerge as testing progresses.
