The upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its official launch. Based on the top-spec AX7 L variant, the special edition brings a few visual changes while keeping the overall package familiar. It will be offered only in a Stealth Black exterior shade.
One of the biggest highlights of the Thar Roxx Star Edition is the new 19-inch black alloy wheels. These replace the dual-tone wheels seen on the regular model and add a sportier, more aggressive look. Apart from this, the overall design remains unchanged, with the focus clearly on a darker and more premium appearance.

Inside, the Star Edition continues the blacked-out theme. It gets a black cabin with a matching black dashboard and darker interior trims. To balance the look, Mahindra has added a beige roof liner and beige door panels. The SUV also comes with black leatherette seat upholstery, giving the cabin a more premium and exclusive feel.
The feature list of the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition is expected to be the same as the standard AX7 L variant. It includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear AC vents, a height-adjustable driver seat and rear parking sensors. Safety and off-road-focused features such as electronic brake locking differential, electronic stability program with rollover mitigation, hill hold control, hill descent control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear defogger are also offered.
Mechanically, there are no changes expected. The Thar Roxx Star Edition will continue with the same engine options as the regular model. These include a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine producing 152 bhp with up to 320 Nm of torque, and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine delivering 132 bhp and 300 Nm. Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently priced between Rs 12.25 lakh and Rs 22.06 lakh, ex-showroom. Prices for the AX7 L variants start at Rs 18.66 lakh and go up to Rs 22.06 lakh. The Thar Roxx Star Edition is expected to be priced slightly higher than the standard AX7 L trims, depending on the engine, gearbox and drivetrain configuration.
