Hyundai Bayon prices are expected on October 26. It gets a 115 PS petrol engine and dual 12.3-inch screens. AI voice assistance and ADAS are key highlights.
Hyundai is set to launch the new Bayon in India on October 26, 2026. Positioned between the Venue and Creta, the upcoming SUV brings a bold design, a petrol engine and several new technology features. The India-spec Hyundai Bayon has already revealed key details about its exterior, cabin, engine and safety equipment. It will get a 1.5-litre petrol engine, dual 12.3-inch screens and a generative AI voice assistant. Bookings are also open for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The Bayon is expected to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. Hyundai is expected to announce the official prices and variant details at launch. Here are 10 major highlights of the new Hyundai Bayon ahead of its price reveal.
The new Hyundai Bayon gets a bold design with a sculpted bonnet, split headlamps and slim LED daytime running lights. Its H-shaped lighting design gives the front a distinctive look. The side profile features thick body cladding, flared wheel arches and stylish alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets slim tail lamps, a roof spoiler and Bayon lettering on the tailgate. Unlike the international Bayon, which has a raised hatchback-like design, the India-spec version has a more muscular and traditional SUV appearance.

Hyundai will position the Bayon between the Venue and Creta in its Indian SUV lineup. This will add another option to the company's range of compact and mid-size SUVs. The Bayon is expected to compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Honda Elevate, depending on its final price and variant lineup. Its positioning, equipment and pricing will help determine how it fits into India's competitive SUV market.
The Hyundai Bayon will come with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an IVT automatic transmission. The automatic option is designed to offer a smoother driving experience, especially in city traffic. The same engine is used in other Hyundai models, including the Creta. For now, the company has not confirmed a diesel or turbo-petrol option for the Bayon.
One of the main highlights of the Bayon's cabin is its dual-screen setup. It gets two 12.3-inch displays, with one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other handling infotainment functions. The screens give the dashboard a modern look and bring driving information, entertainment and connected features together. The cabin also features physical buttons for selected controls, making everyday functions easier to access.
The Hyundai Bayon will be the first Hyundai model in India to feature a generative AI voice assistant. The system combines technology from Perplexity and SoundHound AI. It is designed to understand natural voice commands and help with information requests and supported vehicle functions. The system supports more than 500 embedded voice commands across English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali. Some commands can also work without an internet connection. This technology is one of the Bayon's most distinctive features, bringing a more advanced voice-controlled experience to the cabin.
The Bayon will come with Hyundai Bluelink connected-car technology, offering more than 70 connected features. It also supports over-the-air software updates for up to 19 electronic controllers. This allows supported updates to be delivered remotely, reducing the need for a dealership visit for every software update. The infotainment system uses Hyundai's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit technology, supported by NVIDIA hardware. The system also supports several Indian languages, making its connected features more accessible to a wider range of users.
The Hyundai Bayon will offer Level 2 Pro ADAS on equipped variants. The package includes 23 driver assistance features designed to help in different driving situations. Key features include Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist. The SUV will also get a Surround View Monitor and a Blind-Spot View Monitor. These systems can help with parking and improve awareness of nearby vehicles. The availability of individual features may vary by variant. ADAS is designed to assist the driver and does not replace careful driving.
Hyundai says the Bayon will come with more than 35 standard safety features, while the complete package includes more than 80 safety features. Standard equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Hill-Start Assist and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The SUV is built on Hyundai's Global K Enhanced Platform. Its body structure uses different types of high-strength steel, including hot-stamped steel components in key areas. Hyundai has focused on improving crash protection, but an official five-star Bharat NCAP rating should not be claimed unless it is independently confirmed.

The Hyundai Bayon is expected to offer several comfort and convenience features, including ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, wireless phone charging and a Bose premium audio system. These features add to the SUV's focus on cabin comfort and technology. Hyundai has also announced 10 exterior colour options, including Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze and Ecotronic Grey. Selected colours will be available with matte finishes or a contrasting black roof. The availability of specific colours and features may vary depending on the variant.
The Hyundai Bayon is scheduled to launch in India on October 26, 2026. The company is expected to announce its official prices and variant details on the same day. The SUV is expected to cost between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. These figures are estimates, and the final prices will be confirmed by Hyundai. Bookings are open for Rs 11,000 through Hyundai dealerships and the company's official website. There have also been reports about a possible factory-fitted CNG version. However, Hyundai has not officially confirmed this variant or its launch timeline.
