Hyundai Bayon gets a 1.5L NA petrol engine with 6MT & IVT Gets Dash Mode and Sporty Drive Tech for Spirited Driving Experience
Hyundai has revealed the performance specs and key details of the upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV ahead of its official price reveal on October 26, 2026. Hyundai has confirmed that the SUV will be powered by a tried & tested four-cylinder 1.5L MPi petrol engine with intelligent transmission technologies and driver-focused controls.
This 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine is capable of producing 115 PS of power and 143.8 Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and intelligent variable transmission (IVT).
The Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT) also works in conjunction with Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech and selectable drive modes to deliver a smoother, more responsive and engaging driving experience.
Dash Boost Mode delivers an instant power boost and enhanced responsiveness when quicker acceleration is required, helping the vehicle respond promptly during overtaking manoeuvres.
Sporty Drive Tech is engineered to provide a sportier, more engaging and connected acceleration experience.
The automatic version comes with paddle shifters that allow drivers to conveniently control transmission response from the steering wheel.
Eco Mode: the powertrain optimised to achieve maximum fuel efficiency
