Recent teasers hint at a 2026 Thar Roxx update. It could be a special all-black edition or a mild facelift. Core features and engines are expected to remain unchanged.
Mahindra has already started 2026 with big launches like the XUV7XO and XUV3XO EV. Now, the spotlight seems to be on the Thar Roxx, as recent teasers hint at something new. It could be a special edition or a mild facelift, and fans are excited to see what the SUV might get this year.

Mahindra has a history of adding unique editions to its SUVs. The Thar Roxx has had special touches before, like Mocha Brown interiors, custom features for celebrity-owned vehicles, and limited editions like the Earth Edition or the BE 6 Batman Edition.
The latest teaser suggests a possible all-black special edition. While the current Stealth Black leaves some parts in metallic shades, the new edition might go all-black, covering bumpers, alloy wheels, running boards, and even the interiors. This would give the Thar Roxx a much tougher and more aggressive look.
It’s also possible that the teaser points to a 2026 facelift. This could bring minor exterior tweaks, some fresh tech inside, and small cosmetic updates. Recent sightings of camouflaged Thar Roxx test mules support this idea. One key change could be the addition of a 1.5-litre diesel engine, making the Thar Roxx more accessible to a wider group of buyers.
Whether it’s a special edition or a facelift, the core features of the Thar Roxx are likely to stay. It still offers C-shaped LED headlamps, a bold grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, and standout tail lamps. Inside, it comes with premium leatherette seats, dual 10.25-inch screens, the largest panoramic sunroof in its segment, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon system, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and Mahindra’s Adrenox connectivity suite.
The Thar Roxx is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol manual delivers 160 hp and 330 Nm, while the automatic produces 174 hp and 380 Nm. The diesel variant makes 172 hp and 400 Nm with the automatic gearbox, offering strong performance both on-road and off-road.
