Safari EV is expected to get a triple-screen dashboard. Ventilated front seats and Level 2 ADAS could be offered. Dual-motor QWD versions are likely to be available.
Tata Motors is preparing the electric version of the Safari, which is expected to make its global debut at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2027. The three-row electric SUV will share several technologies with the Harrier EV, while adding more cabin space and features.
One of the biggest changes will be inside the cabin. The Safari EV is expected to get a triple-screen dashboard, ventilated front seats and a dedicated display for the front passenger. It is also likely to be offered with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
The Safari EV will get a three-screen dashboard layout similar to the setup introduced with the Tata Sierra. It is expected to include a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment system and a dedicated passenger-side display.
The extra screen will give the Safari EV a more premium cabin compared with the Harrier EV, which uses a two-screen layout. The electric SUV will retain the familiar Safari design theme, including an upright rear section, roof rails and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The Safari EV is expected to borrow several features from the Harrier EV. These could include ventilated front seats, a digital IRVM with dashcam functionality and a 540-degree camera system. Other expected equipment includes a JBL audio system, Level 2 ADAS and auto park assist. Tata could also offer vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle power-sharing functions. With three rows of seating, the Safari EV will be positioned as a larger electric SUV and could compete with models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S.
The Safari EV is expected to share the Harrier EV's 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs. Rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor QWD versions are likely to be offered. For reference, the Harrier EV delivers a certified range of 538km with its 65kWh battery. The 75kWh RWD version has a claimed range of 627km, while the 75kWh QWD version is rated at 622km. The Safari EV could offer broadly similar figures, although its three-row layout and additional weight could affect its final certified range. The Harrier EV's 75kWh QWD version produces 504Nm of torque. Its battery can also be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in around 25 minutes using a suitable 120kW DC charger.
The Harrier EV is currently priced from Rs 21.79 lakh to Rs 30.54 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. The Safari EV is expected to sit slightly above it because of its additional seating row and equipment. The electric Safari could start around Rs 22-23 lakh, while higher variants could reach Rs 31-32 lakh. These are estimated prices and Tata Motors is yet to confirm the final figures.
