2023 has been quite a busy year for BMW cars. What started off with the launch of the flagship 7-Series and i7 sedan, ended with the reintroduction of the X4 Coupe SUV in its new powerful guise. Continuing this momentum for 2024, the company is all set to unveil a line-up of highly anticipated cars. On the list of models for 2024 currently expected is the iconic BMW M3, which looks to carry forward the success of the M2, the next-generation BMW 5-Series/i5 that is set to redefine the luxury compact sedan segment and the BMW X6 Facelift which promises a refreshed design and enhanced features for its fans. Have a look at each model to understand their expected changes: BMW M3 First car on the list is the BMW M3 which is likely to arrive in the market towards the end of this year or early 2024. One of the significant highlights of the M3 will be its new curved dual display using the latest generation i-Drive software. The current M3 is powered by a 3.0-litre petrol engine, Inline 6 Cylinder turbocharged engine which has the capability to deliver 480 bhp of power. For the 2024 M3 model, the details have not been revealed yet. As for the prices, the upcoming BMW car could be priced from Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and can reach up to Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). Next-gen BMW 5-Series/ BMW i5 Next on the line is the new BMW 5-series which will be launched by next year along with its fully electric version, i5. Both models will feature an attractive exterior design. Even on the inside, the 2024 BMW 5-series will get a seamless screen for a 14.9-inch infotainment system along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. ADAS suite will also be on offer. Talking about performance, the 5-series will get an entry-level 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder in the 530i (205 bhp) and a 2-litre turbo diesel in the 520d (197 bhp). Its 530e along with the strong-hybrid motor can produce the combined power of 299 bhp while the high-end 550e 6-cylinder strong hybrid can deliver 489 bhp of max power. BMW X6 Facelift Another highly anticipated BMW car on the list is the facelifted X6 model, slated to launch by early 2024. From the design perspective, the upcoming X6 facelift is likely to get the updated front fascia. On the inside, the car will be featuring the brand's latest iDrive 8.0 for the 14.9-inch infotainment screen and the 12.3-inch instrument cluster. As for the powertrain options, the car will come powered by an updated range of petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrain options. It will include an 8-speed automatic and the xDrive AWD system as standard. Besides, all the iterations of the X6 will feature a 48V battery that adds the power of 12 bhp with 200 Nm torque. All-Electric BMW i5 India Launch Price Rs 1.20 Crore

The first-ever BMW i5 has finally been launched in the Indian market. Available as an exclusive BMW M Performance model, BMW i5 M60 xDrive, the new electric BMW is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.20 crore. It is available at all BMW dealerships across India as a completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) model from today onwards.  New BMW i5 Electric Design & Features The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork. The metallic colour options include M Brooklyn Grey, M Carbon Black, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Sophisto Grey, Oxide Grey and Mineral White. BMW Individual paintworks are also available as an option - Fronzen Deep Grey, Frozen Portimao Blue, Frozen Pure Grey and Tansanite Blue.   The new BMW i5 electric comes with illuminated BMW kidney grille and standard Adaptive LED Headlights (offering cornering light and the Matrix High Beam including the glare-free High Beam Assist BMW Selective Beam). It features a front apron with black surfaces and large air intakes, horizontal slats and M logo, side skirts and exterior mirror caps finished in high-gloss black, 20-inch M light alloy wheels and a rear apron with a pronounced diffuser insert signal. It also comes with a host of M specific design features including the large air intakes at the front, flared side skirts, a rear apron with diffuser insert and the M high-gloss shadow line.    The cabin looks similar to the 5-Series, featuring a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The infotainment unit runs the iDrive 8.5 operating system, which is based on Linux software. It offers gaming and video playback functions. In terms of features, the sedan gets ambient lighting, heated front seats with 4-way power lumbar support, automatic climate control with a micro filter, BMW Active Driving Assistant and a reverse camera. BMW i5 M60 xDrive Specifications It is packed with a dual electric motor setup, offering all-wheel-drive layout. The combined power and torque output stands at 509bhp and 795Nm of torque, which further increases to 593bhp and 820Nm when 'Sport' mode or launch control are activated. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 230kmph.  The all-electric BMW i5 comes with an 81.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is placed under the floor of the car. It is claimed to offer a WLTP range of up to 516km on a single charge. It comes with a 11kW AC charger as standard, and customers can also opt for a 22kW AC charger with an optional onboard charger. Using a 205kW DC Charger, the all-electric BMW i5 battery can be charged from 10-80 percent within 30 minutes.

BMW has started accepting bookings for the upcoming i5 M60 xDrive in India. Interested buyers can reserve their vehicle through the German automaker's authorized dealership network or the BMW Online Shop. This all-electric sedan will be imported via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route. It is expected to hit the market soon. However, the car will be available in limited units, with deliveries slated to start across the country in May 2024. BMW i5 M60 xDrive: Design and Features From the design perspective, the electric vehicle showcases a wider, blanked-out kidney grille complemented by angular headlamps on either side. It also features dual boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. Inside, mirroring the BMW 5 Series, it presents a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system is powered by the latest iDrive 8.5 operating system. It is built on Linux software and offers gaming alongside video playback capabilities. Additional amenities include front seats with four-way power lumbar support & heating, ambient lighting, and automatic climate control featuring a micro-filter. As for safety, the vehicle incorporates BMW’s Active Driving Assistant and a rearview camera, among other functions. BMW i5 M60 xDrive: Powertrain Details BMW i5 comes equipped with an 81.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with the M60 xDrive variant providing a WLTP-certified range of up to 516 kms on one single full charge. Standard equipment includes an 11kW AC charging capacity which can be upgraded to 22kW with an optional onboard charger. Additionally, the electric vehicle is available with a DC charging capability of up to 205kW, enabling BMW to assert a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes. BMW i5 M60 xDrive: Rivals In terms of pricing, the BMW i5 M60 is likely to be positioned closely to the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the Audi e-Tron GT, which are priced at Rs 1.62 crore and Rs 1.72 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.
