2023 has been quite a busy year for BMW cars. What started off with the launch of the flagship 7-Series and i7 sedan, ended with the reintroduction of the X4 Coupe SUV in its new powerful guise. Continuing this momentum for 2024, the company is all set to unveil a line-up of highly anticipated cars. On the list of models for 2024 currently expected is the iconic BMW M3, which looks to carry forward the success of the M2, the next-generation BMW 5-Series/i5 that is set to redefine the luxury compact sedan segment and the BMW X6 Facelift which promises a refreshed design and enhanced features for its fans. Have a look at each model to understand their expected changes: BMW M3 First car on the list is the BMW M3 which is likely to arrive in the market towards the end of this year or early 2024. One of the significant highlights of the M3 will be its new curved dual display using the latest generation i-Drive software. The current M3 is powered by a 3.0-litre petrol engine, Inline 6 Cylinder turbocharged engine which has the capability to deliver 480 bhp of power. For the 2024 M3 model, the details have not been revealed yet. As for the prices, the upcoming BMW car could be priced from Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and can reach up to Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). Next-gen BMW 5-Series/ BMW i5 Next on the line is the new BMW 5-series which will be launched by next year along with its fully electric version, i5. Both models will feature an attractive exterior design. Even on the inside, the 2024 BMW 5-series will get a seamless screen for a 14.9-inch infotainment system along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. ADAS suite will also be on offer. Talking about performance, the 5-series will get an entry-level 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder in the 530i (205 bhp) and a 2-litre turbo diesel in the 520d (197 bhp). Its 530e along with the strong-hybrid motor can produce the combined power of 299 bhp while the high-end 550e 6-cylinder strong hybrid can deliver 489 bhp of max power. BMW X6 Facelift Another highly anticipated BMW car on the list is the facelifted X6 model, slated to launch by early 2024. From the design perspective, the upcoming X6 facelift is likely to get the updated front fascia. On the inside, the car will be featuring the brand's latest iDrive 8.0 for the 14.9-inch infotainment screen and the 12.3-inch instrument cluster. As for the powertrain options, the car will come powered by an updated range of petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrain options. It will include an 8-speed automatic and the xDrive AWD system as standard. Besides, all the iterations of the X6 will feature a 48V battery that adds the power of 12 bhp with 200 Nm torque. BMW has solid plans to introduce several new models, including the highly anticipated BMW M3 and 5 Series. Additionally, the BMW iX1, an all-electric counterpart of the X1 is also set to launch soon. Let’s go through each upcoming BMW car and get a sneak peek: BMW 5 Series The 2024 BMW 5 Series was globally unveiled during the first half of 2023. Now, the brand is planning to bring this next-generation model to India by mid-2024. The latest model will feature an evolutionary design, however, it will share a few similarities to the outgoing model. Additionally, the vegan leather will be used for the upholstery. The interior carries the same design as the outgoing model. It includes a curved dual-display setup consisting of a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other notable features include the latest iDrive 8.5 software, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and CarPlay, ambient lighting, wireless charging, gesture control support, and more. As for the powertrain, the all-new gen 5 Series will come equipped with both petrol and diesel units. These include a 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder (for the 530i) that can produce 205 bhp. Whereas for the 520d, it offers a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel that can make 197 bhp. In the 530e and the strong-hybrid unit, the combined power is offered at 299 bhp. Its top-spec model (550e) 6-cylinder strong hybrid can deliver 489 bhp of max power. Upon launch, the BMW 5 Series will compete against the Mercedes E Class, Audi A6, and Volvo S90. Available in only a single variant; xDrive30 trim, this EV will offer a seating capacity of five people. Like its ICE version, the 2023 BMW iX1 will also get a curved integrated digital driver's display and an infotainment system. There will also be a floating armrest with controls to select gears. Other notable features include an optional 205 W 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with massage functions, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, and ambient lighting. In terms of performance, the upcoming iX1 will come equipped with dual electric motors, offering the combined power output of 313 bhp and 494 Nm of peak torque. With the all-wheel drivetrain, the car will offer a claimed range of up to 438 km. BMW is likely to retail this EV from Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. BMW Cars has successfully re-launched the X4 coupe SUV in India. Priced at Rs 96.20 lakh (ex-showroom), the new model will be offered in limited numbers and can be booked online via BMW Online Shop. Additionally, the first-ever BMW X4 M40i will be brought as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) from today onwards. BMW X4 M40i: Exterior Details From the design perspective, the new X4 M40i highlights a coupe-like appearance. Upfront, it showcases its dark BMW M kidney grille with a chrome frame. Besides, the car gets glossy double kidney bars in Black, LED headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs, skid plates, and new 20-inch Jet Black M light alloy wheels with glossy Red brake callipers. BMW Cars India has launched the first-ever BMW i7 M70 xDrive and the performance diesel variant of the all-new BMW 7 Series- 740d M Sport. Now the performance M Sport version of the BMW 7 series is available in petrol, diesel, and all-electric powertrains. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive is available as CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) while the new BMW 7 Series 740d M Sport is locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai. Both cars are available at all dealerships of BMW India today onwards. Prices for the BMW 740d M Sport and BMW i7 M70 xDrive are Rs 1.81 crore (ex-showroom) and Rs 2.50 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. BMW i7 M70 xDrive and 740d M Sport: Colour Choices The BMW 740d M Sport is offered in Oxide Grey, Black Sapphire, Mineral White, and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue paintworks. While the BMW i7 M70 xDrive is available in two-tone paintworks along with BMW individual paintwork as standard - Oxide Grey Roof or Black Sapphire Roof paintwork are possible with the BMW Individual Paintwork of your choice. BMW i7 M70 xDrive and 740d M Sport: Exterior Details The first-ever BMW i7 M70 xDrive highlights a BMW kidney grille with an M symbol, a number of additional M-specific stylistic components, a Black accent strip between the rear lights, a Black M rear spoiler, and a Black inlay for the rear apron also included in its standard M Performance package. It runs on 21-inch M light-alloy wheels. On the other hand, the diesel variant of the BMW 7 series includes an illuminated kidney grille, LED DRLs with BMW Crystal Lights, and Swarovski crystals. BMW i7 M70 xDrive and 740d M Sport: Interior Features The electric model offers features like gesture control, a multi-zone climate control system, a wireless charger, a 31.3-inch 8K retractable touch screen for rear passengers, a Bowers and Wilkins music system with 36 speakers, 5.5-inch touchscreen control panels on rear doors, and a driver assistance system. For the diesel model, BMW has provided a 31.3-inch screen for second-row passengers, soft-close doors, an automated tailgate, an M Sport styling package, air suspension, and a comfort access system. BMW i7 M70 xDrive and 740d M Sport: Powertrain and Performance The new 740d M Sport is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel mill. This can produce 282 bhp and 650 Nm of torque. With this setup, the car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 6 seconds and can attain a top speed of 250 kmph. Moving on to the i7 series, the M70 xDrive comes equipped with a dual motor and 101.7 kWh battery with a range of up to 560 km. This combination can generate the maximum power of 657 bhp and 1100 Nm of torque. The EV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in only 3.7 seconds and offers a top speed of 250 kmph.
