Nissan Motor India aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile market with new SUV launches. In October 2022, the company showcased its most popular international SUV models, the Qashqai, X-Trail, and Juke in India. As stated by Nissan, the X-Trail SUV would be the first model to be launched in the country while the other two SUVs, Qashqai and Juke are expected to be introduced sometime later this year. Learn more about these upcoming Nissan SUVs that are yet to be launched in India: Upcoming Nissan X-Trail Nissan X-Trail is a premium SUV which is available in both 5 and 7-seat options. Based on the Common Module Family (CMF) platform, the Fourth-Generation X-Trail is expected to be launched by July 2023. For the Indian-specific model, the SUV will be offered with two powertrain options; a 1.5-litre turbo petrol mated with mild hybrid tech (162 bhp/300 Nm) and a strong-hybrid self-charging engine which will produce 201 bhp for the two wheel drive version and 210 bhp for four-wheel-drive. As for the price, we expect it to be in the range of Rs 30 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs (ex-showroom). Upcoming Nissan Qashqai Nissan Qashqai is yet another popular product currently being sold in the international market. This compact SUV could be introduced sometime towards the end of this year. The Third-Generation Qashqai would feature a 1.3-litre petrol with mild hybrid (187 bhp/250 Nm) and a e-Power hybrid option (187 bhp/330 Nm). It is expected that the four-wheeler could come equipped with ADAS features including Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection. The starting price of the upcoming Nissan Qashqai could stand at around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Upcoming Nissan Juke The Japanese automaker is said to be bringing in its Second-Generation Juke SUV to the Indian market by next year. The subcompact SUV will gauge the interest of many because of its funky design. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid engine which would be capable of producing 92 bhp from the engine and 47 bhp from the motor resulting in a combined power output of 139 bhp. The company is believed to offer multiple airbags and other safety features on this model. At the ongoing 2023 Shanghai Motor Show, the Japanese automaker, Nissan has revealed its latest Arizon electric SUV concept for the global markets. Through this concept, the car brand showcased its futuristic design philosophy. According to Nissan, the Arizon EV SUV is designed to serve a multifunctional partner. Let us now dig a bit deeper into what the concept is all about. Nissan Arizon SUV Concept: Exterior Design and Interior Layout Following the brand's futuristic design philosophy, the Arizon EV SUV concept sports a closed-off grille, a full-width headlamp design, an angular front bumper, a raked windscreen, cameras in place of ORVMs, a sloping roof line, designer wheels with aerodynamic covers, and squared-out wheel arches. On the inside, the electric SUV concept features a dual-tone dashboard. It offers bucket-type front seats, ambient lighting, a glass roof, and a large single-pane screen for both infotainment and the instrument cluster. The concept also supports an interior lighting system with face recognition. This will automatically adapt the level of interior lighting to suit the driver's preferences. In addition, the lights can be adjusted in four modes; Leisure, Sleep, Relax, and Surprise. Other notable features include a virtual personal assistant that will act as the in-car equivalent to Amazon's Alexa or Apple's Siri. It is also said that the automaker will provide ADAS functionality too. Furthermore, the Arizon will be based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's CMF-EV platform. Nissan Arizon EV SUV Concept: Powertrain Options The Nissan Arizon SUV is likely to use groundbreaking all-electric technologies. It will get two electric motor setups with the brand's e-4ORCE electric all-wheel-drive system. These motors will be connected to a large battery pack to offer a maximum driving range. The Japanese automaker, Nissan discontinued the first-gen Kicks a while back but now the company seems to be preparing to bring in its successor to the market. The Next-Generation Kicks has been spotted undergoing tests overseas ahead of its global debut which is expected to be taking place later this year. Here is what you can expect from this upcoming SUV. Next-Gen Nissan Kicks: What to Expect Although the test mule was camouflaged, it did reveal some details about the SUV. According to media reports, the upcoming Nissan Kicks will be underpinned by the CMF-B platform. As shown in the spy shots, the model is likely to get a more aggressive design language. It could feature an upright stance with a taller and flatter nose. Besides, the All-New Kicks will have a two-part grille and a split headlamp setup similar to the Nissan Juke and X-Trail. Towards the rear, it will provide a raked windscreen and a flat-ish tailgate with vertically oriented tail lamps. Next-Gen Nissan Kicks: Powertrain Details Under the hood, the New-Gen Kicks will continue to offer Nissan's e-Power hybrid powertrain that comprises a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery. While the e-motor drives the wheels, the combustion engine acts as the generator. Next-Gen Nissan Kicks: When will it come to India? Renault-Nissan alliance has also confirmed that the CMF-B modular platform will be introduced in India. In addition, both brands will bring two new SUVs each by the year 2025. These cars will be based on the CMF-B platform and will be localised. However, there is no confirmation of when this particular SUV will arrive in India. The price of the upcoming Nissan Sunny is expected to be in the range of Rs 8 to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
