Nissan Magnite Facelift Variants Explained

One of the most popular subcompact SUVs, the Nissan Magnite has got a refresh with new design updates and additional features. It was launched at an introductory price starting from Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), and it has been almost four years since it first made an appearance in the Indian market. This story shall help you conclude which variant you should choose according to your requirements. Engine and Transmission Options There are two petrol engine options available with the Nissan Magnite facelift. They are as follows: 1.0-litre Petrol (Naturally Aspirated): This engine gets either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission and produces 71.01bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. The mileage is a decent one as the fuel efficiency can go up to 19.4 to 19.7 km/l. 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol: The engine is more aggressive, a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol, producing 98.63bhp. The manual variant develops 160Nm and the CVT gets 152Nm. The fuel efficiency for the turbo variants varies from 17.9 to 19.9 km/l depending on the transmission option. Pros for Nissan Magnite Facelift This New Nissan Magnite is as bold as on the front side and boasts an excellent road presence; however, it does carry a weird boot lid spoiler that does not resemble well. The height clearance of 205mm is in second place, only after the Tata Nexon, giving this car better capability over rough roads. The 1.0-litre petrol and turbo-petrol engine variants deliver excellent mileage of between 17.9 and 19.9 km/l, which is amongst the best in class. Even the base variant carries out important features such as all power windows, 16-inch wheels, a rear wiper, a rear defogger, and an internally adjustable day/night mirror. 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol (MT), 1.0-litre turbo petrol (MT), and 1.0-litre turbo petrol (CVT), so that the customers are provided more than enough elbow room in terms of performance and driving style. The top variants are equipped with many premium features, such as a 360-degree camera, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), rear AC vents, LED headlamps, cruise control, and an LCD instrument cluster. Disadvantages of Nissan Magnite Facelift The 16-inch wheels along with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine may harm drivability and aggregate fuel efficiency due to the high mass in rotation. On account of the relatively smaller sales and service network of Nissan in India, after-sales service and maintenance might be a tad challenging in rural or lesser urban areas. The Magnite does not arrive with a diesel option, meaning it will be a problem for those who want to have a diesel model. Only top variants will have front armrests, rear AC vents, TPMS, and LED headlamps, which will be deprived of buyers who are trying to save. While the Acenta variant will be priced at Rs 7.14 lakh for the manual petrol, and at Rs 7.64 lakh, the AMT comes in at a higher price of Rs 9.79 lakh for the turbo petrol manual.  Starting at Rs 7.86 lakh for the N-Connecta petrol manual and up to Rs 10.34 lakh for the turbo petrol CVT, that's the pricing structure for both variants. While the petrol manual base version commands a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh, it runs up to Rs 11.14 lakh for the turbo petrol CVT. Nissan Making New 7-Seater SUV Based on Renault Bigster

Renault and Nissan have had a close partnership in India, famously launching the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano as sibling SUVs earlier. Now, Renault is gearing up to bring its new Bigster SUV to India. Nissan, meanwhile, has announced its own upcoming 7-seater SUV, which will be closely related to the Bigster. Though Nissan has yet to reveal details, we expect both SUVs to share many core elements due to the Renault-Nissan alliance. Renault Bigster: Overview The Renault Bigster, recently showcased with the Dacia badge, will be India-bound as Renault’s larger SUV offering. This vehicle is approximately 4.57 metres long – 230mm more than the Duster – with enough room to accommodate three rows of seats. It features a rugged look with thick plastic body cladding, LED headlights and taillights and a bold grille. Bigster’s ground clearance of 220mm is also suited for Indian roads. Inside, the Bigster offers features such as a digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, powered tailgate and options for ADAS. These features cater to the demands of the Indian market, where technology and comfort are important buying factors. Nissan’s Upcoming SUV Nissan’s new SUV, closely based on the Bigster, is expected to share the same platform and engine options, catering to the mid-size 7-seater SUV segment in India. Nissan may introduce unique design elements to differentiate its model, possibly with L-shaped LED DRLs and other distinctive styling cues. Like the Bigster, it’s likely to offer a choice between a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated one, with both manual and CVT automatic transmissions. Hybrid is unlikely. Features, Competitive Position In India, the Bigster and its Nissan counterpart will compete with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. Renault and Nissan reportedly plan to equip these SUVs with features like panoramic sunroofs, dual-zone climate control and premium audio systems. The alliance’s investments in localisation also suggest a high level of feature customisation to suit Indian tastes. Both SUVs mark a renewed push by Renault and Nissan to regain their foothold in India’s SUV market. With production localised and prices set competitively, the Bigster and its Nissan twin could become popular choices for those looking for spacious and feature-packed 7-seaters.
