Along with Punch iCNG, Tata Motors has updated its Tiago and Tigor CNG models with new twin-cylinder CNG technology. The models are priced at Rs 6.54 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are the only car models in their segments that provide three powertrain options; petrol, electric, and iCNG. The updated model comes equipped with twin-cylinder technology without compromising on boot space.
Instead of using a single CNG cylinder, Tata uses two smaller cylinders that smoothly fit under the luggage area, providing more space in the boot space. In addition, the twin-cylinder technology enables the Tigor iCNG to provide a CNG tank capacity of 70 litres. The Punch iCNG and Altroz iCNG have a similar setup.
Further, its 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine can produce 72 bhp of power and 95 Nm of torque in CNG guise. When running in petrol mode, the engine can make 85 bhp with 115 Nm of torque. The transmission choice includes only a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The prices for the Tiago iCNG start from Rs 6.54 lakh (ex-showroom) which can go up to Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant. Prices for the Tigor iCNG start from Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant while its high-end variant is priced at Rs 8.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
Volkswagen Golf GTI bookings closed in India within days; only 150 units offered. Price to be announced soon, and slots may reopen based on demand.
