Tata Motors Announces Price Hike of Up to Rs 25,000; Joins Maruti and Hyundai

Tata cars to get expensive from September 1, 2026 This is the second hike from Tata in the past 2 months

Tata Motors has announced that it will increase prices across its portfolio, covering both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV), by up to Rs 25,000. The new prices will be effective from 1st September 2026. The extent of the price increase will vary across models and variants, ensuring that the overall value proposition of each offering is maintained.

Tata Motors said that the price hike is being undertaken to partially offset the impact of rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures. “While TMPV continues to absorb a significant portion of these increases, a part of the impact is being passed on to customers through this adjustment.”

The entire Tata’s passenger vehicle portfolio receive price revision. The ICE range includes Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Altroz, Nexon, Curvv, Sierra, Harrier and Safari. The brand's EV line-up includes Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV. For people not in the know, Tata had increased the prices of its vehicles by up to 1.5 per cent in July 2026. This is the second hike in 2 months.

Not just Tata Motors, Hyundai has also announced a price increase of up to 1 per cent across its portfolio from September 2026. The company said that the riding input and commodity costs, higher operational expenses and macroeconomic uncertainties are the reasons behind price rise. Maruti Suzuki has also increased prices of their cars earlier this month.
