Tata to Launch Tigor and Tigor EV facelifts in coming weeks Safari EV will be the brand's first 7-seater electric SUV. Tata will launch Safari EV by Diwali, 2026
After introducing the Sierra EV, Tata Motors is aiming to launch 3 more passenger vehicles in the Indian market before the end of the current calendar year. The Tigor and Tigor EV will receive mid-life updates in the coming weeks, while the long-awaited Tata Safari EV will be launched by festive season, around October-November 2026.
Similar to the new Tiago, the updated Tigor and Tigor EV are likely to receive a fresh design, a more premium cabin and several new features. However, both models will continue to be offered with the existing petrol, CNG and electric powertrain options.
The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift will adopt the brand’s latest design language, featuring a sleeker headlamps with integrated LED DRLs connected by a glossy black trim, and a redesigned front bumper with sharper lines and a wider air intake. The sedan is expected to receive new set of wheels, updated LED tail-lamps and a cleaner-looking bumper.
The updated models are likely to get a 360-degree surround view camera. Inside, the sedan could get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a new digital instrument console, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto-folding ORVMs, wireless phone charging, Type-C charging ports and a redesigned steering wheel.
The Tata Tigor facelift is expected to feature the same 1.2L petrol engine producing 86 PS and 113 Nm. With the factory-fitted CNG, the powertrain delivers 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm. Transmission choices could include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit with paddle shifters. The EV could borrow the 19 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs from the updated Tiago EV.
This will be the brand’s first 3-row electric SUV in the Indian market. It will share the platform, battery pack and electronic architecture with the Tata Harrier EV. The acti.ev+ architecture will allow the three-row SUV to offer a more versatile middle-row configuration. Both 6 and 7-seater versions are likely to be on offer.
The Safari EV is likely to be packed with the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, which are offered with the Tata Harrier EV. The company is targeting a real world range of over 450km on a single charge. The 7-seater SUV’s 75kWh model will also get a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup. This model is expected to offer 0-100kmph acceleration in around 8 seconds, along with multiple electronic terrain modes for light off-roading.
