Tata Tigor facelift will be renamed Aeris on September 25. The new sedan gets redesigned front and rear styling with an updated cabin. The Aeris EV could get a larger battery and longer driving range.
Tata Motors is preparing to introduce the heavily updated version of its compact sedan, but it will arrive with a new name. The Tata Tigor is set to be rebranded as Aeris, with the new sedan scheduled to make its debut on September 25, 2026.
The facelift will bring major styling changes, an updated cabin and more features. Both petrol and electric versions could be revealed at the same event, although Tata has not confirmed this yet.
Tata Aeris Gets a New Look
Tata has already started teasing the upcoming Aeris ahead of its debut. The teaser images show a clay-covered car, with different sections of the production model gradually being revealed. At the front, the Aeris will get slimmer rectangular LED headlamps with a sharp horizontal light signature. The front bumper will also be redesigned and feature a large black lower intake, along with vertically positioned elements on both sides.
The teaser also reveals a metallic purple paint finish. The rear section will receive several changes as well. The Aeris is expected to get new tail-lamps with a sharper LED design, along with a redesigned rear fender and boot area.
Despite the changes, the compact sedan will retain the familiar notchback silhouette of the Tigor. Tata appears to have focused on updating the front and rear rather than changing the overall body shape.

Interior Will Get Major Updates
The cabin of the Tata Aeris is also expected to receive several changes. The updated sedan could get a larger infotainment touchscreen and a revised digital instrument cluster. Tata is also expected to introduce new dashboard trim, updated switchgear and a redesigned centre console. Changes to the steering wheel and upholstery are also likely. Higher variants could receive additional connected-car and safety features.
Petrol and CNG Engines Likely to Continue
The mechanical package of the petrol Aeris is not expected to change significantly. The current Tigor uses a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that produces 86 PS and 113 Nm.
It is currently offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The CNG version is also expected to continue after the sedan gets its new Aeris name. Tata could make changes to the variant lineup and features, but a new petrol engine is unlikely with this facelift.
Tata Aeris EV Could Get a Bigger Battery
The electric version of the Tigor is also expected to transition to the Aeris name. The current model uses a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an electric motor producing around 75 PS and 170 Nm.
It has a certified range of up to 315 km and supports both DC fast charging and regular AC charging. The facelifted electric sedan could get a larger battery pack to increase its range. However, Tata has not yet confirmed the battery capacity or range of the upcoming Aeris EV.
Tata Aeris Launch Date
The new Tata Aeris is scheduled to debut on September 25, 2026. With the new name, updated styling and revised cabin, the compact sedan will get a significant makeover compared with the current Tigor. More details about the petrol, CNG and electric versions are expected to be revealed around the launch.
